ભાઈ હેમેન્દ્ર, તારો ઘણા સમય
પછી પત્ર મળ્યો. સરનામા
ને અભાવે તું જવાબ ન્હોતો
લખી શક્યો તે પણ જાણ્યું.
પણ તે રમણિકભાઈને પુછડું
હોત તો સરનામું મળી
જાત, ચાલો આખરે તારો
પત્ર આવ્યો એજ આનંદની વાત.
ક્યારેક સમય મેળવી પત્ર
લખતો રહેજે.
ત્યાં
ગયા પછી ખાવાની અગવડતાને
ઠેકાણે તબિયત ઘણી લેવાઈ ગઈ
એ વાંચી ચિંતા થઈ. અને સાથે
રહેવા માટેની જગ્યાનો પ્રશ્ન ઉભો થયો એટલે
એ પણ એક ચિંતા.
આપણો જોડો ન મળે
ત્યાં સુધી બીજી વ્યવસ્થા
પણ શું થઈ શકે,
નહીતર બા બાબુજીને તથા
બેનને તેડાવે તે એટલે જવાનો
પ્રશ્ન ન રહે, ત્યાં
તો રહેવાની શું વ્યવસ્થા કરી
?. તારે ત્યાં કોઈ અગવડતા ન
હોય તો માટુંગામાં લીલાબેનની
રૂમ ખાલી પડી છે.
એ કે તને ફાવે
કે નહીં એ ખબર
નથી, ગ્રાઉન્ડ ફ્લોરમાં છે વ્હી આવાની
કોમન છે, નાવા માટેનો
રૂમમાં પણ નહાઇ શકાય.
ચાડું માટુંગા સ્ટેશનથી નજીક છે એટલે
બધે સીધા જવામાં પણ
અનુકૂળ પડે જો તારી
ઈચ્છા હોય તો લખજે
જેથી લીલાબેનને લખીને કઢાવી એવું; નહીતર મારા એક બીજા
બેનપણી છે લક્ષ્મીબેન ઝવેરી
જેમે ત્યાં આવવાને હું ઉતરી હતી
જેને મકાન માટુંગા બી.બી સામે જીવણ
પ્રકાશ છે તેને કહેવાથી
પણ કામ મલાવ સગવડતા
કરી આપો તો એ
લખજે.

બેન વગેરે ગુરૂવારે બપોરે રાજીખુશી પહોંચી ગયા છે. શેઠ
સાહેબ જમીને દુકાને જાય છે અને
સાંજે પાછા આવે છે
એટલે એક વખત દાદર
ચડવો ઉતરવો પડે છે, અહીં
તડકા એકદમ શરૂ થઈ
ગયા છે. ત્યાં શું
હાલત છે નાનું ત્યાં
છે કે દેશમાં ગયો
છે.
તારી
તબિયત સંભાળજે, પછી ગરમી આવે
છે. અને એ નોકરી
થઈ એટલે ખોરાક પણ
ન મળી શકે.

Dear Brother Hemendra,
Received your letter after a long time. Also learned that you couldn't write back due to the lack of an address. But if you had asked Ramanikbhai, you would have gotten the address; anyway, the fact that your letter finally arrived is a matter of joy in itself. Do keep writing letters whenever you find time.
Felt worried reading that after going there, your health has deteriorated significantly due to food inconveniences. And along with that, the question of accommodation arose, so that is another worry too. Until our pair/matching arrangement is found, what other setup can even be made? Otherwise, Ba, Bapuji, and Sister could be invited over so that the issue of food/living doesn't remain; what living arrangement did you make there?
If you have no inconvenience there, Lilaben's room in Matunga is lying vacant. Whether that suits you or not, I do not know; it is on the ground floor, W.C. is common, and one can bathe inside the room as well. It is very close to Matunga station, so going everywhere directly is also convenient; if you wish, do write so that I can write to Lilaben and get it arranged. Otherwise, I have another friend, Lakshmibahen Zaveri—at whose place I stayed when I came there, and whose building is Jivan Prakash opposite Matunga B.B. [station]—if you write, asking her could also help arrange accommodations for you.
Respected Sister and others arrived happily on Thursday afternoon. Sheth Saheb goes to the shop after having lunch and returns in the evening, so he has to climb up and down the stairs once. Summer/heat has started here suddenly. What is the situation there? Is Nanu there or has he gone to the native place/village?
Take care of your health, as heat is setting in. And since it is a job, proper food may not be available either.
My health is good.
