અહીં
અહીં પિક્ચરો તો ઘણાં જોયા.
'મંગલ ફેરા', 'મહોત્સવ', 'શમણું', 'કૃષ્ણ-રૂક્ષ્મણી', 'વીણા' વિ. 'મંગલફેરા' કંઈક
સારું છે. વાર્તામાં 'ગુણસુંદરી'
ની કોપી છે. ખેતીવાડી
વાર્તા બહુ સરસ છે.
'કૃષ્ણ-રૂક્ષ્મણી' માં પણ અણિયાળા
વ્યાસનાં ત્રણ સુંદર ગીતો
છે. આજે ઘણાં સુધી
'ગર્લ્સ-સ્કૂલ' ગઈ છે. હવે
આ બોર્ડિંગ માં ૨૫ દિવસ
જ આપવાનાં છે. તેઓ વિના
સાથે જોડાય તેવી સ્ત્રી છે.
અહિં ઘણો સમય થઈ
કોઈ અંગ્રેજી ચિત્ર આવ્યું નથી. પરંતુ અત્યાર
સુધીમાં આવ્યું છે એટલાં બધાંય
પિક્ચર કદાય હું મૂકું
નહીં. આઈ ઠંડી ઠીક
પડ છે. છતાં ય
સવારમાં ઠંડા પાણીથી નાહવા
માં હરકત આવતી નથી.
કુલસુમબેન વગેરે મજામાં છે. મને લાગે
છે કે વસ્તી મુંબઈ
કરતાં પણ ઘણું ગીચ
હશે, છતાં સમરેલી જેવું
લાંબાર ગામ તો નહિં

પરંતુ એમને કોઈ સરસરાટ
મળ્યો નથી એમ સમજે
છે. સાથે જ મળ્યો
પણ શક્તિલાલ. આ સાથે પણ
માનવું શું અને પછી
મેં આગેકૂચ કરી છે કે
શાહેબદ તે જરૂર લખજો.
અહીંયાં તો અભ્યાસ ની
ધમાલ માં પડ્યા છું.
પ્રીલી.ની આટલી ૨
જી તારીખે ફ્રી જ સ્કૂલ
શરૂઆત થશે. ૫ થી
એ પૂરી થશે. S.S.C. ૧૫
મી માર્ચે શરૂ થશે. પ્રીલી
પછી અહીં લોકપદ નો
વિચાર થશે, વડીલ ચહેરા.
પરીક્ષા આપવા ભાવનગર જઈશ.
પ્રીલી પછી પરીક્ષાની તૈયારી
મુકવા બે મહિના રહેશે.
અનુભાઈ નો થોડા સમય
પહેલાં મુંબઈ થી પત્ર હતો.
વડીલ થી પણ બાપુજી
નો ખુશીખબર નો પત્ર હતો
સંયુક્તા વડીલ થી પાછા
આવી ગયાં છે.

Watched many movies here and there—'Mangal Fera', 'Mahotsav', 'Shamnu', 'Krishna-Rukmani', 'Veena', etc. 'Mangal Fera' is quite good; story-wise, it is a copy of 'Gunsundari'. The story based on agriculture is very nice. 'Krishna-Rukmani' also features three beautiful songs by Aniyala Vyas.
Today, many have gone to the 'Girls' School'. Now, only 25 days remain at this boarding school. She is a woman who can adapt/connect without them. No English film has been screened here for a long time. However, I probably wouldn't miss any of the pictures that have come so far.
It is quite cold here; nevertheless, there is no trouble taking a bath with cold water in the morning. Kulsumben and others are doing well. I feel the population here must be much denser than Mumbai, though it certainly isn't a spread-out village like Amreli. Do write a letter.

Received your letter, even if late. So you finally found the leisure to write such a long letter! I wrote a letter to dear Sister a few days ago, but she feels she hasn't received any quick response. Received Shaktilal around the same time. Along with this, please do write what to believe and what step forward I have taken regarding Saheb.
Here, I am caught up in the rush of studies. The preliminary exams will start on the 2nd of next month as soon as school opens, and will end on the 5th. The S.S.C. exams will begin on March 15th. After the preliminaries, local arrangements will be considered here along with respected elders. I will go to Bhavnagar to appear for the exams. After the preliminary exams, there will be two months left to prepare for the final exams.
A short while ago, there was a letter from Anubhai from Mumbai. There was also a letter from Bapuji with good news from elders. Samyukta has returned from the elders' place.
