પત્ર મળ્યો. વાંચી ઘણો જ આનંદ
થયો છે. પરંતુ મારા
ભાઈ હમણાં સામલા ગયા હોવાથી તેમજ
જગ્યાની અગવડને કારણે મારે હાલ તુરત
મુંબઈ જવાય તેમ નથી.
હવે જો તમે દિવાળી
પર દેશમાં આવનાર હશો તો જ
મળી શકાશે. છતાંય મારે કદાચ (રેમ
મળે તો) જવાનું થશે
તો જરૂર ત્યાં ઉતરી
ને પછી જ જઈશ
તે માટે બેફીકર રહેશો.
અભ્યાસમાં ખૂબ ધ્યાન આપતાં
હશો? હવે ફક્ત ત્રણ
વરસ મહેનત કરી લ્યો પછી
તો આખી જીંદગી મજા
છે ને? પછી... મને...
સાથે રાખી ભણાવશોને?
ડીગ્રીનું
કાંઈ કામ નથી. ફક્ત
હોંશ પુરી થાય ને?
આવી ઘણી વાતો કરવાની
છે પણ ક્યારે ભેગા
થઈએ? ખેર! તબિયત સાચવશો

Dear Brother,
Received your letter. Was deeply delighted to read it. However, as my brother has currently gone to Samla and due to a space constraint, I am unable to go to Mumbai at present. Now, if you are coming to the native place (Desh) during Diwali, only then will we be able to meet. Nevertheless, if I happen to go (if I get room/permission), I will definitely stop by there before proceeding, so please do not worry.
Must be paying close attention to your studies? Now just put in the hard work for three years, after which life will be enjoyable for the rest of your days, right? Afterwards... will you keep me with you and educate me?
A degree is not required—just that my heartfelt wish gets fulfilled, right? There are so many things like this to talk about, but when will we meet? Well! Take care of your health; there is a severe shortage of rain here. Rain needs to fall at full capacity (16 Anna), otherwise it will turn out to be barely partial (6 Anna). Do write a letter.
