વાડિયા તા. ૨૩.૬.૫૬ શની ચિ. ભાઈ ભટક, ચિ. તારો તથા બાપુનો છેલ્લો અસ્ખાનાનો અને તા.૧૪/૬ નો પત્ર મળ્યો. ડેડીયાટો એ લખેલો પત્ર મળ્યો. વિગત જાણી. બંને પત્રો વાંચી આનંદ થયો. અહીં અને રાજકોટ, ગોંડલ, વરતેજ, સારંગ, જૂનાગઢ સૌ મજામાં છે. બધાની તબિયત સારી છે, તારી તબિયત બરાબર સંભાળજે. ખાવા, પીવામાં, જરા પણ ઉણપ કે લોભ શિક્ષા નહીં. તને MHF ના $350 ની નોકરી મળી ગઈ તે જાણી આનંદ. ચિ. બહેન ચંદા તથા શ્રી જોશીભાઈ તા.૨૦/૬ ના મુંબઈ પહોંચી ગયા છે. બરખા એ કામ નથી કરી તથા ચિ. સૌ. દમયંતિ ભાભી છોટો મહીના થયા દેશમાં રહી રૂ૫ લાખ પણ રહ્યા છે. અને જુનાગઢ છે. ચિ. ભા. નાનુભાઈ લોગીઈ પરિક્ષામાં નાપાસ થયો, કેમ નાપાસ થયો તેની અમે પણ સગવડ કરીને કે પરંતુ તે નાપાસ થતાં એમને પણ અમે ત્રીજી માસિક આપવાનું ધારા પત્રાંતરે પણ એલ બૂલ તો અદૃશ્ય થઈ કાઢ્યા - ખેર એ પણ એકાદ વર્ષે જોઈશું. છ મહિના બગાડ્યા પછી થોડા પાટે જૂદી હેડુ એ બરાબર લાગતું હશે. અત્યારનો અને સાચવવાનો પણ અભ્યાસી નો અને ટ્યુશન નો છે. એને તો હરે જાય ગમે પૂરા અભ્યાસ કરવા પડશે. નહીંતર રાયાયા પછી પટે ગુજરાતમાં સ્થાન નહીં રહે. ચિ. ભા. દિનેશ પાસ થઈને નવા ૧૦માં ધોરણમાં એટલે કે VI માં પડ્યો છે. સગન પણ અહીંયાજ ફેરવીને રાજકોટની પિરાણી હાઈસ્કૂલમાં દાખલ કર્યો છે. અનુભાઈ માટે રાજકોટમાં નવું ઘર ભાડે રાખ્યું છે ચિ. સૌ. વિમળા જાતે જે રાજકોટ ગયા છે. અહિં માતા તમે અમે બન્ને છું. તમારા પાપુજી તથા જૈન જમીન રહેતા. બીજું અહીં મરડું એલ વરસાદ શરૂ થવાનું છે. બે ચાર દિવસમાં ચાલુ થઈ જશે. ઓફીસનું કાપડનું સારું ચાલે છે. દિવાળી પછી માસિક એવરેજ અઢી દોઢ કે બે લાખ થાય છે તે દ્વારા ખબર પડવા મહીના થશે - પરંતુ સોંદર આવવા વર્ષો થશે. સારું વરસ સારું છે. P.S.G. નો પાદ ની ડીલીવરી ઘણી મોડી થઈ નિયોમાં અપ્પા મારૂ સદા એલ વ્યવસ્થા નવું સ્થાપિત થઈ શક્યું નથી. આ લાઈન પણ ઘસમધાયે ઘિરશે તૈયાર ડેબ્રોઈરમાં. કેટલા મહીના રહેવાનું દેશી ત્યાર બાદ ચોથું અસ્ખાના આલબ કે શિશુ મરડ (M.S નું કર્યા) જાતી રહેશે? લખશો. બીજું તમારી શાખ નો બેલેન્સ નો અમોયમાં મળશે. બીજું આ લોન સ્કોલરશીપ પાં ફેરવવાની સરકાર ની ગણતરી નથી. એમ તમારૂ ફિત માપ પડ્યું છે. મહાગુજરાત નું નવા રાજ્યની રચના આ આંદોલન ની પતરી થી શરૂ થઈ ગઈ. ધારાસભ્ય અમદાવાદ રહેશે. અમૃતલાલ ને ત્યાં રેલવે મગારે નું ઓફિસ રાજકોટમાં અને અહીંયા વડોદરામાં રહેશે - અસૂયક અત્યાર કી ગણતરી છે.

 

વાડિયા મ્યુનિશીપાલટી અને ટ્રેક્ટર. ટ્રેક્ટર વેચાયું છે તેની ડીલીવરી દેવા પાડેલા. નાનુ સાતે રાજકોટ અનેક આવ્યા છે. બદ્ધિર પરદેશ, સૌરાષ્ટ્રનાં રાજપ્રમુખ વ્યવસ્થાપકે આ ટ્રેક્ટર નો ઓર્ડર આપ્યો છે ને સરસ નય ગયું છે. હાલ અમે જાતી ટુકડા પર નિયમિત સાચવતા રહીશું. અને અમે શરૂ કરી કોઈ રચની ફીટર ચિંતા ફિકર નથી થઈ. સારૂ પણ વાડીમાં આંબા ચોધાર ખેર નાખવા પણ અને નાના આંબામાં અને કપાસે ખેર નાખવા નારણ ગયો. ત્યારે એ કેરી ભારે થઈ ને શાશે પાકશે. તમે સરબજીત ની ઘરની ચીઠી અને સરસ હતી, આપની સાથેનો વ્યવહાર ખરાબ નથી. વાડીમાં પાણીના પંપીંગ માટે એન્જીન મશી કાગી વધી HP ની મોટર અને ૨" નો પંપ અને લાઈન ફીટ થઈ ગઈ છે તે શરૂ જામી ટુકડા.

• ચિ. ભાઈઓ નાં શુભાશીષ

પ્રિય ભાઈ, મારો આગલો પત્ર હાથ હવે મળ્યો હશે. તમારા બન્ને પત્રો મળી ગયાં - વાંચી ખૂબ આનંદ થયો. નવા setup નાં નવ-નવા અનુભવો લખતા રહેજો - Detroit ત્રણ માસનું રહ્યપું હશે - બીજું ટર્મ સપ્ટેમ્બર થી શરૂ થશે હશે હવે તો સૌ તે ટર્મ જાણી રહી ને ? રમેશભાઈ ચિ. સૌ. ખરબારના જ હશે. MHF નું નાં નવા તથા સાધનો નું આ રાજ્ય જરૂર મોટાને આ વખતે સૌ ડીઝલ ટ્રેક્ટર મંગાવ્યું છે - ઘણું સરસ છે. હવે ડીઝલ ટ્રેક્ટરો ધબલ કરવા ઈચ્છા છે. ડીમાન્ડ સખ્ત છે. આ વખતે ૨૪મી ઓગસ્ટથી શરૂ થતા Service અને field course માં બેંગલોર જવા નક્કી કર્યું છે - ૬ અઠવાડિયા ચાલશે - તેમ ડીઝલ નો service course પણ એમાં અવાય હશે અને હવે નવાં ડીઝલ ટ્રેક્ટરો દાખલ કિશો ધાચી એટલે સૌની જીભ પણ છે - અહિયાં નવો Machining Plant બધો બાબુભાઈ આટો હું જાવ બંધ થયું છે નથી.

અહીં સૌ કુશળ છે અને અહિં આવ્યો છું - ૨૦- ભવિષ્યમાં પાછો રાજકોટ પહોંચી જઈશ, કારણ કે પાછું અહી અન્નાસાહેબ ને full-fledged Demonstration આપવું છે એટલે સૌ તૈયારી કરશું -

 

નવાં રાજ્યનું ભૌતિક૫દ પગર વડોદરામાં અખત્યાર માં આવશે. પરીણમી યુરોપ-મધ્યસ્થની હેડ ઓફીસ મુંબઈ થઈ લાવ્યા પાછા કર્યા બાદ તે ભવિષ્યમાં SRE નું કામ શરૂ થશે - ત્યારે ત્યાર પછી વડોદરા નવી વ્યવસ્થા થશે. મેં તમને આગળ લખ્યું અને જે રાજ્ય મુંબઈ વિષે - પત્રકારે કેટલા વિરુદ્ધ પત્ર ર્યો કે પાંચ વર્ષ મુંબઈ રહુ. ભવિષ્ય સસરાની ગમે કે રહેશે - અને પછી જ્યાં તકે નહિ સમાં મહાત્માજી એ જોડાયાની ઘૂર પામી છે. મહારાષ્ટ્ર માં સંગ તથા વ્યવસ્થાપક પ્રાદેશીક અને એમાં જલ્દી તદુ૫રાંત દેશભર માં માગણી પાડી છે. દેશભરને સમજાવવું પાક્યું છે - સારા વાતાવરણમાં કોઈ એક બે કીયામાં રહુ દે - Decimal Coinage - દરી-ચેન્જીંગ માં એ ખરાબમાં આવશે - કાઇક અદ્ભુત કઈ નવીન નથી . મને લાગે રહી ફોન તમને નથી મોકલ્યા ત્યાં સુધી કાગળ કાગળ ન લખવાનો નિર્ણય રાખ્યો હતો, પરંતુ નિયમ પરનાં ફોન હજી પણ નથી આવ્યા. તે સગા સંબંધી જોડાણ બન્ને વ્યવસ્થિત અવકૃત્તિથી મોકલજો. અંકોડા સાંભળ્યા નથી, દમના દર અમે સાફ જલાલ કર્યો. વડોદરા ખાતે યોગીબાલ બે મહીનાની ઉડતી-ગોઠવી બહાર સૌરાષ્ટ્રની ફરી કલકત્તા પહોંચી ગયા. તમને આતો 'Service' મળી ગઈ તો dnd ભવિષ્યમાં text પણ બારીયાં ફેબ્રુઆરીમાં અહીં વડોદરી બડાય. જોકે આવા સમયે જે લખાણ પહેલાં પણામાંથી અવાય બીજો બધી કોઈ નવો વીર ખોદાઈ ગયો તો ફરી ફરી વંચાય ઈચ્છ્યું કે તમે અહીં પણ વિનોદ કરી ગયા મોટો આપણી પાસે કોઈ ડાબો લાધવાની સાથ વડોદરા પણ વડીલનું તેવા પણ તમને કાગળમાં લખવા નાનુભાઈને બહુ વલો ગીરી નહિ એટલે ફોન આવ્યા કાગળમાં વિનોદ લખીશ, તથા સ્વીચ સમજવા વગરવત રહેવા વાડી પણ વડોદરાથી સમાજ મોકલશે. - મણિલાલ

Dear Brother Batuk,

Received your and Bapu’s last letter from Urbana and the letter dated 14/6. Also received the letter written to Dediato and noted the details. Read both letters with great joy. Everyone here and in Rajkot, Gondal, Vartej, Sarang, and Junagadh is fine. Everyone's health is good; take proper care of your health. Do not indulge in any deficiency or miserliness regarding food and drink. Very glad to know that you secured a $350 job at MHF.

Dear Sister Chanda and Respected Joshibhai reached Mumbai on 20/6. Barkha did not do that work, and Dear Respected Damayanti Bhabhi stayed in the home country for six months and saved Rs. 5 lakhs as well, and is in Junagadh. Dear Brother Nanubhai failed in the law examination; why he failed, we are also making arrangements to check, but as he failed, we had to stop giving him the third monthly allowance as per the rule... well, we will see in about a year. After wasting six months, moving onto a slightly different track must seem right to him. Current time and care is needed for studies and tuitions. He will have to complete full studies wherever he goes; otherwise, after returning, there won't be a place for him in Gujarat.

Dear Brother Dinesh passed and moved to the new 10th grade, i.e., VI. Moving Chhagan from here as well, he has been admitted to Pirani High School in Rajkot. A new house has been rented in Rajkot for Anubhai; Dear Respected Vimla herself went to Rajkot. Here, Mother and the two of us are present. Your Bapuji and... were residing on Jain land. Otherwise, dysentery/monsoon rain is about to start here; it will start in two to four days. Office cloth business is going well. After Diwali, the monthly average becomes two and a half, one and a half, or two lakhs; that will be known in a month... but prosperity/beauty will take years to arrive. The year is good.

Delivery of P.S.G.'s pump was delayed significantly; in the rules, Appa... my constant management couldn't establish anything new. This line will also crash down in Detroit. How many months to stay in the home country, and after that, will the fourth Urbana item or child/M.S. work continue? Please write. Also, the balance of your branch will be received in... Further, the government does not intend to waive off this loan scholarship; thus your fee has been discounted. The creation of the new state of Mahagujarat started with the movement's pamphlet. The MLA/legislator will remain in Ahmedabad. Amritlal's railway goods office will be in Rajkot and here in Vadodara — this is the current estimation.

Vadia Municipality and Tractor: The tractor has been sold, and arrangements were made to deliver it. Nanu and others came to Rajkot several times. The Rajpramukh administrator of Saurashtra gave the order for this tractor, and it went nicely. Currently, we will regularly maintain the plot ourselves, and we started... no worry or anxiety regarding the fitter. Fruit in the orchard... Narand went to throw fertilizer/lime in the mango trees and small mangoes and cotton. Then those mangoes will grow heavy and ripen on the branch. You... Sarabjit's house letter was very nice; dealings with you are not bad. For water pumping in the orchard, the engine/machine... an HP motor and 2" pump and line have been fitted, and it has started...

My previous letter must have reached your hands by now. Received both your letters — read them with great joy. Keep writing about your new experiences in the new setup. The Detroit stay must be for three months — the second term will start from September, right? So now everyone knows about that term, right? Rameshbhai and Dear Respected... must be in Kharbar.

This state's requirement for MHF's new equipment... Elder Brother ordered a diesel tractor this time — it is very nice. Now there is a wish to double the diesel tractors. Demand is heavy. Decided to go to Bangalore for the Service and field course starting this 24th of August — it will run for 6 weeks. The diesel service course will also be included in it, and now as we introduce new diesel tractors, everyone is talking about it. The new Machining Plant here... Babubhai... I am going, it hasn't stopped.

Everyone here is doing well, and I have come here — in the future, I will reach back to Rajkot, because here we have to give a full-fledged demonstration to Annasaheb, so we will make all preparations.

The physical capital of the new state will come under Vadodara's jurisdiction. Consequently, after bringing the Europe-central head office back to Mumbai, work on SRE will start in the future — after that, new arrangements will be made in Vadodara. As I wrote to you earlier regarding the state of Mumbai — how many opposition letters journalists wrote suggesting staying in Mumbai for five years. Whatever the future father-in-law's side wants will stay — and where Mahatmaji couldn't join... In Maharashtra, regional association and management... and in that, demand has been raised across the entire country quickly. It has become necessary to explain to the whole country — in a good atmosphere... Decimal Coinage — that will come into force in currency-changing... nothing extraordinary or new. 'Chintan' was requested as per your word and cured — but Vadodara is Vadodara.

I feel... held the decision not to write letters until photos were sent to you, but photos as per rules haven't arrived yet. Send both systematically through relatives/connections. Haven't heard the numbers; we completely cleared the asthma rate. Yogibal arranged a 2-month quick trip in Vadodara, toured outside Saurashtra, and reached Calcutta. Since you got this 'Service', future text will also be arranged here in Vadodara in February. However, at such times, if any new hero is excavated from what was written in previous pages, it is read repeatedly. Wish that you also enjoyed humor here... Vadodara is also elders', so Nanubhai wasn't pressed much to write to you in the letter; hence photos arrived, I will write humor in the letter, and without understanding the switch, Vadodara will send news from the orchard.
