Dear Hemendrakumar, Mumbai,

With affectionate regards from Father. Not receiving any letter from you after 7/9/57 until today, it is natural for everyone to be worried. Is it because you don't get free time during your finals, or is there some other difficulty? If you don't get time during finals, make it a habit to drop a postcard with good news on Sundays. Hope your health is good? In the letters from Doctor Saheb in Ahmedabad dated 25/9, they also write that there is no letter from Chi. Hemendra, so it is natural for everyone there as well as here to be worried.

My health here is fine, but as for your mother's health, due to some blood trace, her pressure is not staying steady; we are giving medicine regularly, and now the rain has also reduced, so once she gets rest she will recover, so there is no need to worry. A letter arrived from Motabhai's place dated 28/9 mentioning that a minor operation (scraping) was done. In short, she has recovered. She will be completely fine in a fortnight.

Furthermore, Chi. Bharti is coming here on Tuesday, 26/10. She will stay for 4–5 days, after which she too will go to her parents' house in Sardhar and stay for two months. We plan to go to Vadiya on Saturday, 28.11 at 3:30. Also, as written to you in earlier letters to Mumbai, Ahmedabad Doctor Saheb, and Sardhar, your marriage has been fixed for Tuesday, 11-11-57.

...as decided. And on that occasion, you should take one week's leave here, that is, until Saturday, 16/11 or 21/11—meaning a total of 6 six days of leave. Inquire with the directors about this right away and get confirmation for granting 6 six days of leave (16/11 or 21/11), and inform us quickly by letter so that we can write and inform Doctor Saheb in Ahmedabad, and the marriage on 21/11 can be finalized. I shouldn't have to remind you about this matter again and again. Do write quickly with the confirmation; if confirmed by letter, things will move forward quickly.

For now, Chi. Vasantrai and everyone gathered here quickly; Chi. Vasantrai came yesterday evening, and Chi. Sa. will go together. Chi. Vasantrai has submitted a report to avail of accumulated leave starting 1/11 or at the end of this month, so both of them will come to Mumbai right after Diwali. By then, all necessary arrangements will be made in the house... What more to write? Convey well-being to everyone in Mumbai; everyone here is doing well.

લિ. પપ્પાના હેત પૂર્વક તા. ૭/૯/૫૭ પછી આજ સુધી પત્ર ન મળતાં સૌને ચિંતા થાય તે સ્વાભાવિક છે. તમે ફાઈનલમાં (ફુરસદ નહિ મળતી હોવાને લીધે કે બીજું કોઈ મુશ્કેલી છે). ફાઈનલમાં વખત ન મળતા હોય તો રવિવારના એક ખુશી ખબર ના post card લખી દેવાની ટેવ પાડવી. તબીયત તો સારી રહે છે ને? અમદાવાદમાં ડોકટર સાહેબના તા. ૨૫/૯ ના પત્રો ત્યાં પણ તેઓ લખે છે કે ચિ. હેમેન્દ્ર ના કોઈ પત્ર નથી તેથી ત્યાં તેમજ અહિયાં સૌને ચિંતા થાય તે સ્વાભાવિક.

અત્રે મારી તબીયત ઠીક છે પરંતુ તમારા મમ્મીની તબીયતમાં કઈક લોહીનો દોરો રહેવાથી પ્રેશર ન રહે, દવા નિયમિત ખવરાવીએ છે, અને હવે વરસાદ પણ ઓછો થઈ ગયો છે એટલે આરામ થઈ જશે તો ચિંતા કરવાની નથી. મોટાભાઈને ત્યાંથી તા. ૨૮/૯ ના પત્ર આવ્યો છે. (minor operation) (scrap) કરાયેલું તે લખ્યું છે. ટૂંકમાં સાજી થઈ ગઈ છે. પંદરવાડીયામાં તદ્દન સારું થઈ જશે.

બીજું ચિ. ભારતી તા. ૨૬/૧૦ ને મંગળવારના અત્રે આવે છે. ૪-૫ દિવસ રહેશે ત્યારબાદ તે પણ પિયર સરધાર જઈને બે માસ રહેશે. અમે તા. ૨૮.૧૧. ના ૩/૩૦ ને શનિવારના વડિયા જવા વિચાર રાખ્યો છે. બીજું તમને અગાઉ પત્ર લખ્યો છે મુંબઈ, અમદાવાદ ડોકટર સાહેબ અને સરધાર ત્યારે તમારા લગ્ન મંગળવાર તા. ૧૧-૧૧-૫૭ નક્કી કર્યા છે.

 

વિચાર્યું છે. અને તે પ્રસંગે અત્રે તમારે એક અઠવાડીયાની એટલે કે તા. ૧૬/૧૧ કે તા. ૨૧/૧૧ ને શનિવાર સુધી રજા એટલે કે કુલ ૬ છ દિવસની રજા મેળવી લેશો. અને તે અત્યારથી તપાસ ડાયરેક્ટરો સે કહીને ૬ છ દિવસની (તા. ૧૬/૧૧ કે ૨૧/૧૧) રજા આપવા માટેનું confirmation મેળવી લઈ ને પત્રથી નક્કી જલ્દી ખબર આપશો એટલે અમદાવાદ ડોક્ટર સાહેબને લખી જણાવી શકાય. અને તા. ૨૧/૧૧ નાં લગ્ન વિચારવાનું નકકી કરી શકાય તો આ બાબતમાં મારે તમને ફરી ફરીને યાદ આપવું ન પડે. તેમ તુર્ત confirmation નો જલ્દી લખશો જો ચોક્કસ પત્રથી રાષ્ટ્રપતિ નાં આગળ વધશે.

હલપુરુ. ચિ. વસંતરાય અને સૌ જલ્દી ભેગા અત્રે આવેલા છે ચિ.વસંતરાય ભાઈ કાલે સાંજના તેઓ મુકાયા છે ચિ.સા. ભેળું જશે. રાત્રે ગઈ ચિ.વસંતરાય તા. ૧/૧૧ કે આ મહીના ની આખરી ચઢતુ રજા ભોગવવા માટેનો રીપોર્ટ આપી દીધો છે એટલે તેઓ બંને દિવાળી પછી તુરત મુંબઈ આવી જશે. અને ત્યારે ઘરમાં જોઈતી બધી વ્યવસ્થાઓ થઈ ને રીપોર્ટ વિશેષ શું એમ નથી મુંબઈ એજ્યે બધાને ક્ષેમકુશળ કહેવાની ને અત્રે બધા જલ્દીના અહિયાં
