પ્રિય ભાઈ બટુક, વિ. અઠવાડિયામાં પત્ર નહિ લખાય. રાજકોટ આવી ગયેલ છે. સૌ કુશળ છે. બધાની તબિયત સારી છે. તમારી તબિયત સુધર્યા હશે. અહિની ચિંતા કરશો નહિ. નાનુંની written પરીક્ષા પૂરી થઈ ગઈ છે. દિનેશની સાથે ચાલુ થઈ ગઈ છે. અમરશી ભાઈએ મુ. પેટલાદથી ના. ભાઈના સ્વર્ગવાસ થયા છે. કાઈ વળતર શરીર ઘસાઈ રહ્યું હતું. છેલ્લે ૬ દિવશની બીમારી ભોગવીને દેહ છોડી દીધો. અફસોસ કરશો નહિ. તા. ૨૨/૧ અપરેશ સાવ ગામમાં છે. બીજું દિનેશની વિ. સૌ સમાચાર અને ધ. ભોગીલાલ અને રમીલા આજ પહોંચ્યા છે. જાણી ચિંતા થાશે સમય થશે ત્યારે લખાશે. વિ. શ્રી એસ. યુ. રાયની ભલામણ સાથે રાશીધરના લખાણ વગેરે આશીર્વાદ સાથે થયેલ છે. આમાં કુછ સારી સમાચાર મળશે. બીજું - કીશોરનીયા પરિત રહ્યા પાછે. રાશી - ફ્રેસોને લખાશે પત્ર લખી નીચેની હારી લાઈનને છોડીને બીજી લખી લખાવશે. પત્ર અને તપાસ તરખુમ. નવન લખાશે - ભુનીલાલની શુભ. શ. અમૃતલાલ હસ્તક સમેષે અઠવાડિયા રવિના.

 

પ્રિય ભાઈ હેમંત, તને કલકત્તાથી જે પત્રો લખેલા પણ તારા કોઈ પણ પત્રમાં તે બચાવનો ઉલ્લેખ નથી તો તને તે પત્રો મળેલા કે સરનામાની કોઈ ભૂલચૂકને હિસાબે ગેરવલ્લે ગયા હશે એ હવેના તારા પત્ર ઉપરથી ખબર પડશે.

અમે બે ત્રણ દિવસથી મુંબઈ અમદાવાદ થઈને અહીં આવેલ છીએ, અહીં બેસેલ થઈને રોકાઈને બંધુ સાથે થોડા દિવસ રહી શકાય એ માટે નેળા છે. નાના ભાઈ પણ બે ત્રણ દિવસમાં આવશે. તારી તબિયત સારી હશે, રમણ પણ પ્રફુલ્લ સારું છે. તમારી પરીક્ષા ક્યા મહિનામાં આપશે? અહીં આ બધા મજામાં છે. પૂજાત્યા પૂ. બાપુજીની તબિયત પણ સારી છે. પૂ. બેન તથા શશીકા કલકત્તા પત્ર કરે છે. મામાને ઘણી વખત યાદ કરે છે. પહેલી સપડીમાં આવ્યા છે, ભણવામાં ઘણો હોશિયાર છે. સ્કૂલે નિયમિત જાય છે તેથી ટ્યુશન પણ દઈને ઓછા કરે છે. મોતીભાઈ કાકા કાકાતથા ત્યાથી ગયા જ્યારે આ તરફ આવવા રવાના થવાના ત્યારે એસો કદાચ નીકળી ગયા હશે, અત્યારે કંઈ નવીન નથી. પત્ર લખજે.

બટુકભાઈ, બધાના ગઈકાલનો લખેલ પત્ર હું આપે પૂરું કરવા બેઠી છું. તમારા બધા પત્રો રાજકોટથી અહીં બરાબર પહોંચી જાય છે. મેં પણ આ પહેલા એક બે વખત બાપુજી સાથે જ તમને કાગળ લખેલ હતો. તમે મોકલેલ New-Salem ના ફોટાઓ તો મળી ગયા છે પરંતુ કોઈએ એવી પત્ર તમને નહિ લખી હોય એમ તમારા પત્ર પરથી લાગે છે. આજે તમારા જવાબની રાજકોટ આવવાની રાહ હતી એટલે કાલે આ પત્ર લખ્યો - બીડેલ પરંતુ આજ સુધી તમારા પત્ર નથી આવ્યા એટલે કદાચ આ કાગળ દર વખતે બનશે એમ રસ્તામાં જ બંને કાગળો ફર્સ થયા. પુસ્તકો પણ લગભગ આ મહિનાની ૧૫-૧૬ દિવસ પછી નક્કી છે. અહીં દિનેશની પરીક્ષા ગઈકાલથી શરૂ થઈ ગઈ છે. કાકાના બાળકો કાલે સાંજે રાજકોટ થઈને અહીં આવ્યા છે. F.Y. માં પાસ થઈ ગયા છે. બીજું તમારા માટે સમાચાર - ઈંગ તથા લીમડાની સુદવહૂની અહીંયા અઠવાડિયા પહેલા રાજકોટ બાપુજી આવી આવ્યા છે. એ લોકોએ ત્યાંથી રવાના કર્યું કે મને એ ખબર નથી. અહીં આપણે વાડીમાં બધું તૈયારી થઈ ગયા છે. આ વખતે ઠીક છે. અઠવાડિયા પહેલા મસ્તાનભાઈ અહીં આવેલા, બે દિવસ રોકાયા હતા. એમણે સહસ્રરા લાફ્તપથતીમાં જોડવાનું નક્કી કર્યું છે. તમારી Anual Exam છે, ત્યાં જઈને તમે પહોંચી પીના રીઝી ગયા લાગો છો. તમે પણ પ્રોફેસર પણ કોઈ મસ્ત માનવી લાગો છો. કદાચ અમેરિકામાં મુંબઈ જ એવા મસ્ત સ્વભાવના જશો એમ માનું છું. અહીં ઉનાળો ઠીક ઠીક છે. કેરી ખાવી શરૂ કરી નથી. તમે પણ ત્યાં ત્યાંથી સમાચાર જણાવશો. - જ્યોત્સના

[Section 1 — Main / Elder's Message]

Dear Brother Batuk,

Greetings. A letter could not be written during the week. Have arrived in Rajkot. Everyone is doing well. Everyone's health is good. Hope your health has improved. Do not worry about things here. Nanu's written exams are over. Dinesh's exams have started alongside. Respectable Amarsjibhai from Petlad... Brother passed away. The body was wearing down due to some compensation/illness. Finally, after suffering 6 days of illness, he left the body. Do not grieve. On date 22/1, Operation Saw is in the village. Further, regarding Dinesh's news, Bhogilal and Ramila arrived today. Knowing this will cause worry, but details will be written when time permits. Further, with the recommendation of Shri S. U. Rai, along with Rashidhar's writing, blessings have been given. Some good news will be received in this. Further, Kishor's matters remain as they were. Will write to Rashi-Fresos; leave the following green/bottom line and have another written. [Section 2 — Family Member's Message]

Dear Brother Hemant,

The letters I wrote to you from Kolkata... but in none of your letters is there any mention of receiving them; so whether you received those letters or if they went astray due to some address error will be known from your upcoming letter.

We arrived here two or three days ago via Mumbai and Ahmedabad; staying here for a while is intended so that we can spend a few days with our brother. Younger brother will also arrive in two or three days. Hope your health is good; Raman is also cheerful and well. In which month will you give your examinations? Everyone here is fine. Respectable Bapuji's health is also good. Respectable Sister and Shashika are writing letters to Kolkata. They remember Uncle very often. Has entered the first grade, is very clever in studies. Goes to school regularly, so tuition classes are reduced. Motibhai Uncle left from there, and by the time they were set to depart toward this side, they might have already left. Nothing new right now. Do write a letter.

[Section 3 — Jyotsna's Letter]

Batukbhai,

I am sitting down to complete the letter written by everyone yesterday. All your letters from Rajkot reach here properly. I too had written a letter to you once or twice before along with Bapuji. The photos of New-Salem sent by you have been received, but judging from your letter, it seems no one wrote to you about it. Today we were waiting for your reply to arrive in Rajkot, so this letter was written yesterday — enclosed; but until today your letter hasn't arrived, so perhaps as happens every time, both letters crossed paths on the way. Books are also almost finalized after 15–16 days of this month.

Here, Dinesh's examinations started yesterday. Uncle's children arrived here yesterday evening via Rajkot. They passed F.Y. Further news for you — Bapuji came to Rajkot a week ago regarding... and Limda's daughter-in-law. Whether they departed from there or not, I do not know. Everything is prepared in our garden house here. This time it is fine. A week ago Mastanbhai came here and stayed for two days. He has decided to join Sahasra Laftapathi. You have your Annual Exam; after going there, it seems you have settled in well. You and your professor also seem like jolly/carefree souls. I believe that even in America or Mumbai, you will remain of such carefree nature. Summer here is quite noticeable now. Haven't started eating mangoes yet. Keep sharing news from your end as well.
