ચિ. ભાઈ જીતુ, જિ. તપાસો. તા. ૧૬/૧૨ નો પત્ર ગઈ કાલે મળ્યો. ઘણા લાંબા વખત થયા તમારા પત્રની પ્રતિક્ષા થઈ રહી હતી. પત્ર મળતાં સૌને આનંદ થયો. તમારા કુશળ સમાચાર જાણી વિશેષ આનંદ. અને અમે સૌ કુશળ છીએ. અમારી તબીયત સારી છે. ચિંતા કરશો નહીં. ગઈ તા. ૨૧/૧૧ ના અમે રાજકોટ સંત વિનોબાજીનાં દર્શને ગયા હતા. ત્યાં બે દિવસ રોકાઈને પાછા આવ્યા, બાદ તમારા માતૃશ્રી ને એક અઠવાડિયું તાવ અને સળેખમનો ઉપદ્રવ રહેલો હતો. પરંતુ ત્યારપછી તદ્દન સારું છે. ચિંતા કરશો નહીં. શિયાળાની મોસમ હોવા છતાં બરાબર સાવચેતી રાખવી.

તમારી સર્વિસની વિગત લખેલ. રહેવા અથવા વિગેરેની વિગત લખી તેવું સંભાળી. ચિ. તા. નીત્તા ભાઈ વાળા નેપિયન્સી રોડ ઉપરના મહેશ્વરી મેન્શનના ફ્લેટમાં રહેવાનું રાખ્યું તે સારું થયું. વિશેષ આનંદની વાત એ છે કે ડોક્ટર શ્રી જીવરાજભાઈ જટાશંકરની કંપની અને સહારો મળ્યો. એમને આપણા કુટુંબ પ્રત્યે ખૂબ લાગણી અને પ્રેમ છે. આપનાજીની પણ આપણા પ્રત્યે એમને સદ્ભાવ છે. ઘણી વખત યાદ આપે છે. રાજકોટ આવેલા ત્યારે મારૂ થોડું... દુર પડ્યો. મળવાનું વિચાર્યું નહીં હોય. એમને સૌને મારા શુભાશિષ પહોંચાડશો. અને એમણે હવે બીજી વખત જ્યારે રાજકોટ આવવાનું થાય ત્યારે જો અગાઉથી ખબર આપશે તો મારફતે પહોંચાડીશું. એ રાજકોટ આવીને મળી શકીશ. મળવાની ખૂબ ઈચ્છા થાય છે પરંતુ ભેગા જાણો નહીં. હવે તમે નિરાંતે એક વખત તમારી પેટની જૂની તકલીફ અંગે એમને કન્સલ્ટ કરી લેશો. અને બાપુની સલાહ સુધી દવા ઉપચાર કરશો. જે યોગ્ય કરીને કાયમની ઈજાહર દૂર થઈ જાય.

 

તમારે રહેવાનું બહુ સરસ છે. હોસ્પિટલ ઉપર જેવું થાય છે તેવી સવારનાં ઘર કૂ. યા નાસ્તો થઈ લેવા માટે કંઈ વ્યવસ્થા રાખી છે કે નહીં. ચિ. લા. જગદીશને અનુકૂળ હોય તો પણ તમારી સાથે રહી શકે તો સારું, સંચ અને સાંજનું ડીનર માટે. થોડો સ્પેશિયલ વધારે ચાર્જ હશે તો પણ વાંધો નહીં પરંતુ સારો ખોરાક મળે તેવી ચિંતા રાખશો. અને રાતના સૂતી વખતે પથરાઈને દૂધ સાથે મેળવીને પીવાનું રાખી શકો તો વધારાનું...

તમને તમારા નવા ભેરૂઓ બરાબર ફાવી જાય તો તમારે લાંબા વખત સુધી લંડનમાં રોકાવું પડશે કે થોડું અને ઈચ્છનીય નમે, એટલે બે-ચાર મહીના પછી કોઈ સારું અને સાચી ફિલ્મ(ની) પાયોનું યોગ્ય ઠેકાણું થાય તો તપાસી લેજો. ચિ. બાનુભાઈ કે સગાં-સંબંધીઓની અમારી ઈચ્છા અને ગણતરી છે. અને તે દરમ્યાનનો તમને શ્રી જ્યોતિભાઈ વાળા આપણા ફ્લેટે મળી જશે. તમને ખ્યાલ લાગશે. રાજકોટ વાળા શ્રી છબીલભાઈ મળેલા. (મુક્તા બહેનનાં સંબંધી) તરફથી આપનાથી મિત્રતા ધરાવે આપની હોંશિયારી દેખાય છે. એમ.એ. ના અભ્યાસ કરે છે તેને સગપણ તમારી સાથે કરવા માટે અધેયારાં ફરે છે. તેને સગપણ તમારાથી...

ઉપર પણ આવેલા છો. જેમાં બે ભાઈ જૂદી અપ ના્યાય વાળા છે. ચિ. લા. તેજેન્દ્ર ને મુંબઈમાં બરાબર સરસ ચાલ્યા છે. ચિ. લા. સુમેન્દુ ને ત્યારબાદ આપણા ઘણો એક મહિના નીચે ગઈ હશે. ત્યારે તું સગપણના ફેંસલા વિષે વિચાર્યું છે? "જ્યારે તું માગું છું" આવ્યાને તેમે ત્યારો નમ્ર માણસ સારો સમજાવે અને કુટુંબ સંસ્કારી અને રેઢીયાળ હોવા કે આપણું ચિત્ત ધરાવવું છે. હું હવે પછી અઠવાડિયા પંદર દિવસમાં મિત્ર જણાવીશું. તે દરમ્યાન આપનાં તરફથી પણ જ્યારે રાજકોટ નઈશ તે પછી ત્યાં આગળ વધવા કંઈ ફેર આપવો નહીં તેથી ત્યાં બરાબર બધી રીતે જોયું હશે તો તેના નવા બરાબર રિપોર્ટ અને સગપણ યોગ્ય ગણાશે. અને નવામાં બરાબર રીત રાખવા તથા રહેવાની તત્પરતા બરાબર તો તમને નારાજગી તો આ week-end માં તમે રાજકોટ આવી નહીં શકો? અમે તમને બહુ ઉતાવળ હશે. રાહ જોઈ શકે તો બીજે ક્યાંય જાઓ છો ને કન્યા આપને ગમી ગઈ હશે તો બીજો alternative ચિ. લા. નાનુભાઈ મારા ના. મુઝબ્રુ તમે આ બાબતમાં માનસિક રીતે બીજો develop થાય તે જોઈએ - મતલબ કે આપણી દ્રષ્ટી, કન્યા અને કુટુંબમાં superior Complexity હોય તેવામાં આપણું પડખું...

 

અને મકાનનું major ફિક્સ આપણું પૂરું થઈ ગયું છે. હવે રંગરોગાનનું કામ અને થોડું રહેવાસી ફિક્સ બાકી છે ત્યાં રેડિયો અને નાના રૂમની અંદરના ભીંતની અંદરનો લાકડાનો કબાટ બનાવવાનું ફિક્સ ચાલુ છે આટલું પૂરું થયા બાદ બંને રૂમમાં જેસ્ચેપ્પર લગાડવાનું અને છેલ્લે ઇલેક્ટ્રિશિયન નું ફિક્સ કરાવવાનું રહેશે. લગું લગું ફિક્સ વહેલી પૂરું થશે. એક પખવાડિયું અગાઉ પૂરું થઈ જશે.

ચિ. બેન જ્યોતિ લંડનમાં તાલીમકાર છે. સન ૧૯૬૧ માર્ચ મહિના ત્યાં રહીને ને ભરી ગૃહ(ના) નો માર્ચ મહિના નો કોર્સ પૂરો કરવા પાંચ દિવસ અટેન્ડ કરવા માંગે છે. ત્યારે અહિંયાથી સંપત્તિ આપી હોઈ છે. એટલામાં ત્યાં સગવડતાનું ફિક્સ તમારા પારુશ્રીએ સંભાળવું પડશે. રસાયો કે કોઈ આપા દિવસનાં ફિક્સ પાર થઈ જાઈ ને રાજી સેવા પાડે. અપે. શૌ- એટલે શો. પૂજ્યા બહેન, કુ. તથા શ્રી અમૃતલાલ વગેરે સૌને વંદે. પરંતુ એમનું પણ એક આછું નક્કી મકાનબદલ બીજાનાં લીંક નું કામ અને રસોઈ ફાઈનલી યાને વેપારગરાજીયો તેની શરૂઆત આયા સપાટે વગર રહેવું પડશે છો. આપણા મનમાં ખોટા ડર છે તેવી Covrnice લેતા નથી - છતાં પ્રયત્ન ચાલુ રાખીશું અને તમે પત્ર લખતાં રહેજો -

રાજકોટ - ભાવનગર ના પ્ર પ્રણયમાં જે ભાવનગર માં ચિ. અનુભાઈનાં બધા દાંત extract શિખી રહે છે. અને વિશેષ વિગતવાર પણ લાંબા વખત નાં પેટનાં દૂખાવા લોકોનાં આવ્યા અને નિષ્ણાત વૈધ ની દવાઓ સારું પણ આપનું લોહીનું... ચિ. બેન જ્યોતિ નજીકની માસી પણ ચિ. બાનુ ભગાતા સોપારિ લેવા ભાવનગર રહેવા દેવા ૩ મૂરત જોવરાતા હોઈ એમ સરસ. સદભાવિયે પખવાડિયે પુ. અદાને ત્યાં આંટા ફેરા કરતા રહેશો અને મોંઘી તબીયતના ખબર પૂછતા રહેશો. તાવ અને વક્તાપનું પચશે. લી. બાબુભાઈનાં રામરામ

Dear Brother Jitu,

Greetings. Received your letter dated 16/12 yesterday. A letter from your end was being awaited for a very long time. Everyone was delighted upon receiving the letter. Knowing your good news brought special joy. We are all well here. Our health is good, do not worry.

On the 21st of November, we went to Rajkot for the darshan of Sant Vinobaji. After staying there for two days and returning, your mother suffered from fever and a cold for a week. But after that, she is completely well now. Do not worry. Despite it being the winter season, take proper precautions.

You wrote details about your service/job and living arrangements, take good care. It was good that arrangements were made to stay in the flat at Maheshwari Mansion on Napeansea Road with Dear Nitta-bhai and others. A matter of special joy is that you got the company and support of Dr. Shri Jivarajbhai Jatashankar. He holds great affection and love for our family. He also has goodwill toward you. He remembers often. When he came to Rajkot, my place was a bit far... he might not have thought of meeting. Convey my best wishes to everyone there. If he happens to come to Rajkot next time and informs in advance, we will arrange through... I will be able to meet him upon his arrival in Rajkot. I desire very much to meet him. Now, whenever you have leisure, consult him regarding your old stomach problem. Take medication and treatment as per Bapu's advice, so that by proper care the permanent trouble is removed.

Your living arrangement is very nice. Morning house-breakfast arrangements—whether something has been arranged or not? If convenient for Dear Jagdish, it would be good if he can also stay with you for dinner in the afternoon and evening. Even if there is a slightly special higher charge, no problem, but ensure you get good food. And at bedtime, if you can make it a habit to lie down and drink milk mixed with...

If you get along well with your new companions, will you have to stay in London for a long time or a short while? As desirable, after two-four months, look into finding a good and proper place for actual film/foundation. Our desire and expectation lie with Dear Banubhai or relatives. In the meantime, Shri Jyotibhai and others will meet you at our flat. You will get an idea.

Shri Chhabilbhai from Rajkot met us. From the side of (Mukta-bahen's relative) who holds friendship with you, your cleverness is evident. The girl who is studying for M.A.—they are making eager efforts to arrange an alliance with you...

Regarding Dear Tejendra, things have gone very well in Mumbai. Regarding Dear Sumendu, after that our... must have gone down a month ago. At that time, have you thought about the decision regarding the marriage proposal? When the proposal came, a humble and good person explained, and since the family is cultured and well-behaved, it holds our interest. I will inform friends within a week or fortnight. Meanwhile, after I go to Rajkot, no change should be made to advance things further until you have examined everything properly from all angles; then a new proper report and proposal will be considered suitable. If you are ready and willing to maintain proper ways with the new setup, and if you are not displeased, can't you come to Rajkot this weekend? You must be in a great rush. If you can wait, before going elsewhere, if you liked the girl, another alternative... Dear Nanubhai... as per my... let's see how this develops mentally—meaning, from our perspective, if there is a superior complexity in the girl or family, our side...

And major fixing of the house has been completed on our end. Now painting work and a bit of residential fixing remain; over there, work on the radio and making the built-in wooden cabinet inside the small room's wall is ongoing. After this is complete, applying chest-paper in both rooms and finally getting the electrician's work fixed remains. The nearby fixing will be completed early, finishing a fortnight ahead.

Dear Sister Jyoti is a trainee in London. She wishes to finish her course in home science by staying there until March 1961, attending for five days. Consent has been given from here. Meanwhile, fixing the convenience over there will have to be taken care of by your... Whether a cook or someone fixes for a few days... Respected Sister, Ku., and Shri Amrutlal send their respects. But their slightly fixed change of house and cooking work—meaning business/trade—will have to remain without starting at full speed for now. There are false fears in our mind, we don't take such convenience—still, we will keep trying, and you keep writing letters.

In the Rajkot-Bhavnagar matter, in Bhavnagar, all teeth of Dear Anubhai are being extracted. Also, regarding long-standing stomach pain, expert Vaidya's medicines worked well, but your blood... Dear Sister Jyoti's close aunt is also in Bhavnagar for Dear Banu... looks for 3 auspicious dates, which is great.

Out of goodwill, keep making visits to Respected Ada's place every fortnight and keep inquiring about Monghi's health. The fever and weakness will pass.
