વિ. વાચો. તા. ૧/૧૦ ના પત્ર તથા તા. ૧૪/૧૦ ના રજીસ્ટર કોર્ટ થઈને અને મણિલાલ સાથે મોકલાવેલા ફોટા ના નેગેટીવ તથા પોઝીટીવ પહોંચાડવા માટે Dean નો પત્ર પણ મળ્યો છે ને મુંબઈ મોટાભાઈએ શ્રીગ્રંથ બેંકને આપવાના પૈસા અસલ કરી આપ્યા છે. તારા ખાતાનાં બીજા ઘણા ખરા પૈસા ૨/૩ દિવસમાં મળી જશે.
અને આપણી સૌની તબીયત ઘણી સારી છે. ચિંતા થોડી પણ નહીં: તારી તબીયત સારી જાણી આનંદ થયો. વજન ૧૧૦ રતલ છે. તો ત્યાંના હવામાનની તબીયત ઉપર વજન વધારવામાં ઘણું લાયક હોય તેમ લાગે છે ખરું, જે તબિયત જળવાય એવી આશા રાખું. શરીરમાં જઈ થાક ન લાગતો હોય અને સ્ફૂર્તિ બરાબર રહેતી હોય અને માનસિક તંદુરસ્તી રહેતી હોય તો સંભવ છે તારે આ નસીબથી કોઈની પણ લેશ માત્ર ચિંતા રાખવી નહીં. તને ત્યાં અતિશય ધીરજ રાખ્યા સિવાય બીજું કંઈ ચાલે તેમ નથી માટે તારો સંપૂર્ણ તારામાં વિશ્વાસ છે આપ એતા મારી એવી સંપૂર્ણ તારામાં વિશ્વાસ છે. તારો પત્ર પણ મળ્યો અને માણસની જુબાનીથી તે લખેલા નો અર્થ સમજાયો. દેશમાં નવો અથવા તો પેઢી વ્યાપારમાં ત્યાંની રીતથી ફેરફાર અને વાતાવરણનાં ફેરફાર તે વ્યાજબી જ હોય છે તેથી અને વાતાવરણ ને થોડો અને બાકીનો કંપનીમાં પણ સાનુકૂળ રહેવાનો જ તેમ જ યાદ ભલામણ ખાતર પેઢી ન જાય એટલા ખાતર યાદ ભલામણ ખાતર લખે છે. પૂજ્ય લાલ શાહ આવ્યા તે સમય સાનુકૂળ રહ્યા તેથી આપણી તને શિખામણ સાથે અત્યારનાં છે, અને એ નવરાત્રી ના પ્રદૂષણનાં બહિષ્કાર બાદ શરૂઆત થઈ ગઈ છે. ચાલુ સાલે વરસાદ અત્યારે થવાની ધાસ્તી પડી ગઈ છે તેમજ શિયાળો પણ સખત થાશે એમ સૌનું માનવું છે. સારું સાથે વરસાદ છે ઉતરાયણનાં બધા રાજ્યોમાં ઘણી લાઈન છે બીજી બધું ઠીક લાઈન મુંબઈ કે રાજ્ય તા. ૩૦ થી ના રજાના ૧૧.૩૦ (એટલે તે ધન તેરસ) અગિયાર સાથે રજા. અને તા. ૩૧ અને ૧ ૨ અને ૨૪ નવેમ્બર ના દિવાળી અને નવા વર્ષ ના પડવા હોવાથી રજા ના દિવસો માં સરકારી ઓફિસો બંધ રહેશે એટલે વધુ મુંબઈ રાજ્ય તા. ૩/૧૧ ને ચાલુ થશે.
મારી આંખે નોંધવા જેવો કાંઈ ફેર પડતો લાગતો નથી કે પણ હજી છે તેવું છે. આ અહીં આંભેજ દિવસ ના પ્રકાશમાં દૂરની વસ્તુ દેખી શકાય છે પણ તદ્દન ક્લીયર નહી એટલું જ નહીં પરંતુ એ સાચું કે focusing અલગ થતું હોવાનું તેનો ઉપયોગ થતો નથી, ડોસા ભાઈ ના ચશ્મા નો પડદો છે તે સમય વીતી જાય ગયો હોય જોઈએ અને તેમાં સરકારે આપ થવું એવું જોઈશે આ દેશમાં તેના કોઈ ઉધાર નથી ખરે તેથી એને બહુ ચિંતા ક્રિયા કે રાખવાનો કોઈ અર્થ નથી, જેમ પ્રભુ રાખે તેમ રહેવું. શરીરની એવી અવસ્થા અને સમયે એવો ધર્મ બનાવે કારણકે કેવળ નુકશાન થતું બીજું ભા. નાનું festival પૂજા (વપરાશી) ના દિવસો પહેલાં પહોંચી ગયેલો પૂજાનાં શરૂઆત માં જ (" દિવસોમાં સખત વરસાદ પણ આજે પિતરાઈ સાથે ખૂબ રડ્યો એટલે એ શરદીના તાવમાં ૧/૧૦ દિવસ પસાર પડ્યો છો એટલે festival ના પૂજાના દિવસોમાં પરીક્ષાનો ખરો લાભ લઈ શક્યા નથી: હવે તદ્દન સારું છે અને જે ૨-૪ દિવસમાં ત્યાંથી રવાના થઈને મુંબઈ થઈ ને રાજકોટ આવી જશે. ચિંતા કરશો નહીં, રાજકોટ, ગોંડલ, festival, જુનાગઢ સૌ પત્યાં છે ચિ. અંશુમતી ની ખબર સારી નથી રાતોરાત બદલી થઈ છે. રાજકોટમાં ભક્તિ ભાઈ નો પત્ર જોયો આપણા વડીલો સાથે બધા રાજકોટમાં ડાયરા રહેશે બીજું લાયબ્રેરી ના મિલાપ માટે પત્ર પિતાજી એ મોકલ્યો, સપ્ટેમ્બર અને ઓગષ્ટ ના પૈસા અત્રે પહોંચી આવ્યા છે. Hindu Weekly Foreign Air mail મને પત્રિકા આપી મોટાભાઈ એ રાજકોટ લખી નાખ્યું હશે નહિતર હું આવતી રાજકોટે જ ઊઠું એટલે ત્યાંથી મદ્રાસ Hindu પત્ર નું લખાણ નાખીશ, બીજી કોઈ ખોટ નો મંગાવવા મુંબઈ બાબતમાં મૂંઝાવું નહીં. ખૂબ આનંદથી સંદેશા મળતા રહે છે - આપણા ધંધા રોજગારની કોઈ ચિંતા કરવાની નથી. Progress સારો છે. દિવાળી બાદ નવીના ભવિષ્યમાં હાથ આપવા વાળાનો area પણ આપણને સોંપાય નવું તેવા સંજોગો ધોરાજી રહ્યા છે. પ્રભુ કૃપાથી બધું સારું થઈ રહેશે અને તમારી દેખરેખનો લાભ મળ્યા કરે છે, જૂનાગઢથી જ્ઞાતિ પાટીદાર લાયબ્રેરી થઈ આ આઝાદી ઈશારા પત્રની નકલ પણ મોકલેલ છે (and copy જે ભાઈ ના તેમજ થયા)

તમારો પત્ર મળ્યો વાંચી આનંદ. અહીં સૌની તબિયત સારી છે. ત્યાં તમારી તબિયત પણ સારી રહેતી હશે.
કલકત્તાથી બહેનોનાં ખુશીખબરનાં પત્રો આવે છે. ત્યાંથી તમને કાગળ લખ્યો છે એમ બહેનનાં કાગળમાં હતુ. મંદાબહેનનો હમણાં કાગળ નથી. એમના જેઠ પ્રત્યુભાઈ પણ હમણાં ત્યાં ગયા છે. મંજુબહેનનો આજે કાગળ છે. દિવાળી પછી કદાચ જુનાગઢ જવા વિચાર છે એમ લખે છે. અહીંથી પણ કદાચ બા-બાપુજી જશે. કાકાનો ૨-૩ દિવસ પહેલા કાગળ હતો. વિવેક ખાતર લખવું જોઈએ એટલે ઠીક બાકી અવારનવાર કોઈને ત્યાં જઈએ – ખાસ કરીને સગાને ત્યાં – તો એ કોઈને ગમે એમ લાગતું નથી. બીજું મધુનું સગપણ કલકત્તા દશેરાને દિવસે કરેલ છે. હજી એની ઉંમર તો નાની કહેવાય પરંતુ લગ્ન શા વર્ષ બાદ કરશે. ઠેકાણું સારું હતુ એટલે કરી લીધું. દિનેશ હજી રાજકોટેથી અહીં આવ્યો નથી. આ વખતે કદાચ ત્યાંની દિવાળી કરશે એવું લાગે છે. શહેર છોડી ગામડામાં આવવાનું કોઈને ન ગમે એ સ્વભાવિક છે. ત્યાં તમને હિંદી પિકચર જોવાતો નહિ મળતા હોય. બાકી ત્યાં શું શું જોયું એ લખજો. તમારા જર્મન મંડળ સાથે બરાબર ફાવે છે ને? શો શું અભ્યાસ કરે છે? તમારા બન્નેનો ફોટો મોકલજો એમને પણ યાદી. — જ્યોતિ

Letters with good news arrive from sisters in Kolkata. In sister's letter, it was mentioned that a letter was written to you from there. Mandabahen's letter hasn't come recently. Her brother-in-law Pratyubhai has also gone there recently. Manjubahen's letter came today. She writes that after Diwali, she is considering going to Junagadh. From here as well, Ba-Bapuji might go. Uncle's letter came 2-3 days ago. It should be written for courtesy's sake, so it's okay; otherwise, going to someone's place now and then — especially relatives' places — doesn't seem to be liked by anyone. Further, Madhu's engagement was done in Kolkata on Dussehra day. Her age can still be called young, but the wedding will take place after a year. The match was good, so it was finalized. Dinesh hasn't come here from Rajkot yet. This time it seems he might celebrate Diwali there. It is natural that no one likes leaving the city to come to a village.
