દિ. વા. ૧૭ ફેબ નાં પત્રો અને ફોટાઓ તા. ૨૬'ર નાં મળી ગયા છે. પત્રો વાંચી ઘણા જ સંતોષ અને આનંદ થાય છે. પત્રોના જવાબ મળોડો લખાયામાં પ્રમાદ મુખ્ય કારણભૂત છે. તારી તબીયત અને પ્રવૃત્તિઓ જાણીને ઘરમાં સૌ ખુશી થાય છે. તારા અભ્યાસ વિષે મારે ચિંતા ક્રિયાનું કારણ નથી રહેતું. તારા છેલ્લા પરિણામ કે તારા progress વિશેનો પૂરો ખ્યાલ આવી ગયો છે. તું આટલે દૂર જે આશા ઉમેદ અને જવાબદારી સમજી ને ગયો છો, એટલે તું તે અંગે સજગ અને સભાન હોજ તેમાં શંકા ને સ્થાન નથી આમ છતાં અમારા વડીલોનાં હૃદય જેવધન(?) મેળ (?) અને નબળા પડી ગયા હોય (?) આવા સંકલ્પ વિકલ્પો મનમાં ક્યારેક ઉઠ્યા કરે તે સ્વાભાવિક. વાસ્તવમાં અમારા મનનો અયન છે તારા આત્માનાં ચાલુ સદુપાય (?) તથા ત્યાર પછી નાં બીજા સદુપાય તાર જે વિષયોમાં Specialize થવા ધારે જે વિષયો તારી પસંદગીનાં લીધા છે. તે ઘણા જ ઉત્તમ છે. તે Thesis પાસે(?) / માં (?) "Automation" વિષય ની પસંદગી કરી છે તે પણ અનેરો અને સરસ નવીન છે. તેના First chapter - Historical Background and defination of Automation ની outline તૈયાર થયે નળી આ type copy અમે આપશે ત્યારે તે વાંચીને ખૂબ આનંદ થશે- હવે પછી કાં જ્યારે નાં તારા અભ્યાસ નો programm- chalk out કરી તેની outline મુજબ તારો અભ્યાસ અને Thesis લખાયા તારો સગળ સમયને તારે કેન્દ્રીત ક્રિયા પડશે- એટલે અત્યારથી ઓગસ્ટ માસ સુધી એટલે કે તારો કોર્શ પુરો થાય સુધી ત્યારે તે સમય દરમ્યાન part time કે વેકેશનનાં full time દરમ્યાન કોઈ પણ પ્રકારની સર્વિસ ક્રિયાનો ખ્યાલ પણ કરવો નહીં પ્રશ્ન તારા ધ્યેય મુજબનું લક્ષ્યાંક પૂરૂ કરી લેવા મારે દ્રઢ મન સાથે વિચારને કેન્દ્રીત કરી નાખ્યા. ગયા વર્ષની તારી income નો વિચાર ને કેન્દ્રીત કરી નાખ્યા- તે જાણી ને સંતોષ થયો છે પરંતુ કેટલાક ત્યાં આપણા વિધાર્થીઓ, Earn while you learn નાં ધ્યેય સાથે ક્રિયા કરતા હોવાનાં પરિણામે તેઓનો Degree મેળવવા નો મૂળ ધ્યેય સમયસર બર લાવી શક્તા નથી. એકી સાથે બે ઘોડે ચડ્યા હતા સમયસર લક્ષ્યાંક કે સમયસર પહોંચી શક્તા નથી અને નાસીપાસ થતાં બીજુ વર્ષ અને ત્રીજી વર્ષ નાં ધસરડા ક્રિયા પડે ત્યારે હતાશ થઈ જવાનો વખત...

 

વખત આવે અને મૂળ ધ્યેય મૂકી દેવાય- અને કોઈ વિષયમાં specialize ન થઈ શકે. અને માણસ આટલે દૂર જઈ અની ફોરો વેઠી ને જો કોઈ Credit સાથે વતનમાં ન આવે તો તેની કિંમત માત્ર એટલી જ કે ભાઈ Foreign Return છે. કે ને credit તો સારૂ પણ કેટલાક ધંધાર્થી માણસો યુરોપ- અમેરીકા નાં પ્રવાસો કરી ને મળવ છે. આટલ દૂર જઈ આટલા ફોરો વેઠીને ને કંઈ વિશિષ્ટતા મેળવીને માણસ ન આવે તો એમના પોતાના ભાવિ જીવનમાં તે આગળ વધી શક્તો નથી. લખવાની મતલબ કે તારા ગત પરિણામ રૂપે જે સંતોષ મેળવ્યો છે તે morale ટકાવી રાખવા પાસે તારે હવે સન્ત પ્રજ્ઞનશીલ રહેવું પડશે. પરંતુ તારી તારી તબીયત ના ભોગે આ બધું ન થાય ત્યારે બરાબર સંભાળ રાખજે. તને અગાઉ અમે જ્યારે ક્યારેક સુવા પથ ના હુમલાઓ ઉપડી આવ્યા તેવા હુમલાઓ ત્યાં આગળ નથી થઈ આવ્યા તેવો ને? અમોને(?) over-exertion નાં કારણે નથી થયો ને? એ મારે બરાબર સંભાળ રાખજે-

બીજી તારી સોબતનાં બીજા હંતાના પૈસા મળી ગયા છે તો તારે ત્યાં આગળ જેમ જેમ જરૂર પડે તેમ તેમ મંગાવતા રહેજે- તારી ડીગ્રી મેળવવા માટે નાં છેલ્લા ૨-૩ મહિનામાં ક્યાંય સર્વિસ ક્રિયા નો વિચાર કરીશ નઈ.

અમે સૌ કુશળ છે. સૌની તબીયત સારી છે. રાન્દેરે(?) અમે સૌ કુશળ છે. સૌની તબીયત સારી છે- રાન્દ્રે(?) સિવાય પાર્વતીબેન.. આઝાદ માં સૌ મજામાં છે- સૌ તને સિવાય, પાર્વતીબેન.. આઝાદ માં સૌ મજામાં છે- સૌ તને સ્મરણ યાદ કરે છે. અને તારૂ કુશળ ઈચ્છે છે

બીજું એમ ત્યાં ભાષણ આપ ચૂંટણી ચાલી રહી છે મોટા ૨૫/૩ નાં પૂરી થશે. તા-૨૫ સુધીમાં બધા પરિણામો બહાર પડી જશે ભાષણ કિરણ રાજ્ય સિવાયના બધા રાજ્યોમાં કોંગ્રેસ- બહુ મતોમાં છે. તેમજ લોકસભા Parliament માં પણ કોંગ્રેસ બહુમતીમાં રહેશે. લોકસભા પર સૌરાષ્ટ્ર નાં મધ્ય કોંગ્રેસના બહુમતીમાં રહેશે. લોકસભા પર સૌરાષ્ટ્ર નાં મધ્ય. કોંગ્રેસના ઉમેદવાર તરીકે ભારત સરકારમાં Heavy Industries નાં પ્રધાન શ્રી મનુભાઈ શાહ ને ઉભા રાખ્યા છે. આપણો વિભાગ આ લોકોમાં હોવાનું ભવિષ્ય પિતા શ્રી મનુભાઈ શાહ અને મુંબઈની ધારા સભાની સીટ નિ. ડૉ. દેવશી ભાઈ પટેલ તથા અચ્છન રજ રતુભાઈ વાઘેલા અને તેની પાર્ટી અને ચૂંટણી પ્રચાર અર્થે આવેલી ત્યારે ગાય ભવ્ય સ્વાગત ક્રિયું. તથા સૌ ખૂબ ખુશી થયા. શ્રી મનુભાઈ શાહ વળતાં વતી વખતે આપના ઘરે પાંચ મીનીટ આવી ગયા ત્યારે એ એમને તારા છેલ્લા આવેલા ફોટાઓ બતાવ્યા અને તારા અભ્યાસ અંગેની. અને મારા Mech. Degree Course M.S. માં ઉપયોગી યાદ તેવા વિષયો ની પસંદગી મારે નું એમના માર્ગદર્શન માટે પૂછ્યું, તેથી ઘણા જ ખુશી થયા. એતો સ્પષ્ટ કે છે કે મારે જો Highly qualified and specialized મીકેનીકલ એન્જીનીયરોની ખૂબ જરૂર છે. એમણે તારા પાસે કર્યું કે તું પણ દિલ્હી મોક્ષ લખી ને વિષયોની...

 

સવિસ્તર યાદી લખી જણાવજે. હું ત્યાં જ ખુલાસો લખી પાઠવીશ. જ્યારે એમ તે જે મોટા ભાઈ ઉપરના કાગળ માં પૂછ્યું છે તે બાબતમાં શ્રી મનુભાઈ શાહ કે જેઓ આ ચૂંટણી ની તા.૨૧-૩ ની આપણી ચૂંટણી લડીને તા.૨૩ માં દિલ્હી જશે. એટલે ત્યારબાદ તુરંત આપને મોગાર લખીને આપનું માર્ગ દર્શન મંગાવી લેશું. અને તે આવ્યું તને લહી જણાવશું. બીજું બેંગલોરથી અનુલાઈનો ગઈકાલે ખુશી ખબર નો પત્ર હતો. એમનો કોર્સ અને અઠવાડિયું વધુ લંબાણ છે. એટલે હવે તે આ મહીનાની આખરમાં શ્રી હરિભાઈ સાથે પાછા ફરશે. તારે Post લખવાની ફુરસદ હોયતો એમને બેંગલોર નું સરનામું આ પ્રમાણે છે. ચિ. નાની બહેનના લગ્નનાં દિવસે કિયાજ નક્કી થયો તો લગ્ન નક્કી. ચિ. સૌ. પદમા બહેન તથા શ્રી અમૃતલાલ તા. ૨૫ માર્ચ પછી અમે આવવા રવાના થશે. તમે જે જાણતા(?) ઈચ્છા વળતા પત્ર લખત. તે મંગાવેલી વસ્તુઓ (૧) આ પદ્ય લખ્યા બદલ (૨) આપીશ (૩) Second Five Year Plan of India. જે કાઈ તને માર્ગલાભ આપશે- બીજું કાંઈ જોઈએ તો મંગાવજે ત્યાં આગળ તારા મિત્રો- ભાઈઓ- બહેનોમાં મારા રૂડા આશીર્વાદ સાથે સ્મરણ- બીજું મુંબઈ રાસ મંડળી નાં પ્રોગ્રા.. ભાઈ શ્રી જકુમાર ભાઈ પટેલે. અમારો રાસ નૃત્યોમાં ફોટા કોઈ ખૂબ રાજી થયા છે અને સ્મરણ લખાવ્યા છે. આપણી મંડળ ભારીના જુદા જુદા રાજ્યોની નૃત્યનાટ્યા ખ્યાતિ પામી છે. ત્યા લક્ષ્મણ પણ(?) રહેશે. આપણી મંડળી ન લઈ ને આવતી માર્ચ દિલ્હી રેડિયો ઉપર પ્રોગ્રામ આપવા પાઠવી રહી છે. તમારા ત્યાંના પ્રોગ્રામના ફોટા ઓ આપને દિલ્હી પાઠવવાનું કહ્યું છે- ત્યાં લક્ષ્મણ પણ(?) મુંબઈ તાલુંકા કોંગ્રેસ સમિતિના મંત્રી છે. મારા પ્રત્યે પૂજ્યભાવ વડીલ તરીકેનો રાખે છે. એમ શ્રી બાપુજીનાં શુભાશીષ.

તમરો છેલ્લો કાગળ તથા ફોટાઓ મળ્યા. બંને બહેનો પરનો કાગળ કલકત્તા મોકલી દીધો છે. એ લોકો તરફથી હમણાં ઘણા દિવસથી કાગળ નથી. તમે મોકલેલ ફોટાઓ બહુ સરસ છે. અગોરારૂ(?) છોકરીઓને આપણો પહેરવેશ પહેરાવ્યા પછી ફોટાઓમાં ઓળખી શકાય નહિ. જરા તો તમારા બધા ફોરા જોઈ ઓળખી શકાય નહિ. જાણો તો તમારા બધી છોરીમાંથી એકાદ તમને એ ફિકર થઈ કે આ બધી છોરીમાંથી એકાદ તમને ગમે વળગે નહિ અને આદિ સૂર્યહિન છે. બાકી કંઈ વિશેષ વકીલ ન હોવામાં લખવા ખબર લખત લખો!

Greetings.

Received your letters and photos dated 17 Feb on 26/2. Reading the letters gives immense satisfaction and joy. Laziness is the primary reason for the delay in replying to the letters. Everyone at home is delighted to know about your health and activities. There is no reason for me to worry about your studies. I have received a full idea of your latest results and your progress. Understanding the hope, expectation, and responsibility with which you have gone so far, there is no place for doubt that you are alert and conscious regarding that; even so, it is natural that such doubts and thoughts occasionally arise in the minds of elders like us whose hearts may have grown weak or anxious. In reality, our mind's intent is regarding the current good course of your soul, as well as subsequent good steps in the subjects you intend to specialize in, which you have chosen according to your preference. They are extremely excellent. Selecting the topic "Automation" for your thesis is also unique and wonderfully novel. When the typed copy of its First Chapter — Historical Background and Definition of Automation — is prepared and sent to us, reading it will bring great joy. Hereafter, when you chalk out the program for your studies, you will have to concentrate all your time according to that outline for writing your studies and thesis. Meaning, from now until August — that is, until your course is completed — during that period, do not even entertain the thought of doing any kind of part-time or full-time vacation service/job. Firmly focus your mind on achieving your target according to your goal. Focused thoughts on your income of the past year — knowing that brought satisfaction; however, as a result of some of our students there working with the goal of "Earn while you learn," they are unable to achieve their primary goal of securing a degree on time. Riding two horses at once, they cannot reach their target on time and become disappointed; when forced to drag through a second and third year, a time of despair comes...

A time comes when the core goal is abandoned — and one cannot specialize in any field. And after going so far and enduring hardships, if a person does not return to their homeland with credit, their value remains merely as "Foreign Returned." Good credit is earned by some businessmen who travel through Europe and America; but if a person goes so far, endures so many hardships, and returns without acquiring special merit, they cannot move forward in their future life. The point of writing is that to maintain the morale derived from your past results, you will now have to remain steadfast and prudent. However, ensure all this is not done at the expense of your health; take good care of yourself. Earlier, when you used to get occasional attacks of asthma/spasms, such attacks haven't occurred there, right? They haven't happened due to over-exertion, right? Take proper care of that regarding yourself.

Further, the money for the other draft from your companion has been received, so keep asking for money from there as and when you need it. In these last 2–3 months before obtaining your degree, do not consider doing a service/job anywhere.

All of us are doing well. Everyone's health is good. In Rander, all of us are doing well. Everyone's health is good — except for Parvatibahen... in Azad everyone is enjoying; everyone remembers you and wishes for your well-being.

Further, speeches and elections are going on here; the main phase will end by 25/3. By the 25th, all results will be out. Except for the speech/Kiran state, the Congress holds a majority in all states. Similarly, Congress will also hold a majority in the Lok Sabha Parliament. In central Saurashtra for the Lok Sabha, the Minister for Heavy Industries in the Government of India, Shri Manubhai Shah, has been fielded as the Congress candidate. Since our area falls under this constituency, when the future father Shri Manubhai Shah, along with the Bombay Legislative Assembly seat nominee Dr. Devshibhai Patel and Acchanraj Ratubhai Vaghela and his party came for election campaigning, a grand welcome was extended; and everyone was very pleased. When Shri Manubhai Shah stopped by our house for five minutes on his return, I showed him your recently received photographs and asked for his guidance regarding your studies and your choice of subjects useful for your Mech. Degree Course M.S.; he was extremely pleased. He clearly states that highly qualified and specialized mechanical engineers are greatly needed. He suggested that you also write to Delhi regarding subjects...

Write and send a detailed list of subjects. I will send a clarification there directly. Regarding the matter you asked about in the letter to Elder Brother, Shri Manubhai Shah, after fighting this election of ours on 21-3, will leave for Delhi on the 23rd. Immediately after that, we will write to him to request his guidance. Once it arrives, we will inform you in writing. Further, yesterday there was a letter with good news from Banglore from Anulai. His course has been extended by a week. So now he will return at the end of this month along with Shri Haribhai. If you have time to write a post, his Bangalore address is as follows: Arvind C. The wedding date for Dear Younger Sister was fixed on that day, so the marriage is set. Dear Respected Padmabahen and Shri Amrutlal will depart to come after 25th March. Whatever you wish to know, write in the return letter. The requested items: (1) For writing this verse/letter, (2) I will give, (3) Second Five Year Plan of India, which will provide you with some guidance — ask if you need anything else. My warm blessings and regards to your friends, brothers, and sisters there. Further, regarding the program of the Mumbai Ras Mandali, Brother Shri Jakumarbhai Patel was very pleased with our photos in the Ras dances and sent his remembrances. Our troupe has gained fame for dance-dramas in various states. Lakshman will also be there. Taking our troupe, they are sending a program on Delhi Radio this coming March. They have asked us to send photos of your program there to Delhi — Lakshman is also the Secretary of the Mumbai Taluka Congress Committee. He holds a respectful elder-like regard toward me. Batukbhai,

Received your last letter and photos. The letter for both sisters has been sent to Kolkata. There has been no letter from them for many days recently. The photos you sent are very nice. After dressing the foreign girls in our attire, they couldn't be recognized in the photos. Looking closely, one couldn't identify them among all your photos. You know, among all these girls, a worry arose that you might fall for or get attached to one of them, and this is sunless/unfavorable. Otherwise, nothing special, as there is no lawyer to write, keep writing news!
