વડિયા. તા. ૨૪/૧/૫૬ રાયભયી. પ્રિય ભાઈ. વિ. અનેક હેલો વ. લખીને મોકલાવી દેશો. તમારા તરફથી ઘણું અઠવાડિયું થયાં પત્ર નથી. તે સૌને ચિંતા થાય છે. કોઈ વાર આટલું મોડું ન થયું અને આ વખતે આટલું મોડું થતાં સૌને ચિંતા થાય તે સ્વાભાવિક છે. અને તરફથી કુશળ સમાચાર છે. સૌની તબિયત સારી છે. ચિંતા કરશો નહીં. ચિંતા નાનું ભાઈની ની પરિક્ષા પૂરી થઈ ગઈ છે. ચિંતા નાનું પેપરો સારા ગયાં છે. પરંતુ અપેક્ષું થાય છે. સેમેસ્ટર માસમાં આવશે. તો તે સુખદ થાય તે. તમે કઈ તૈયારી તરફથી જવાબ આપશો? નવરા શું અભિપ્રાય થાય છે તે લખશો. એડિશન પેપર્સ. સૌરાષ્ટ્ર સરકાર તરફથી પોતાની સેક્રેટરી. ડી.એમ. ભટ્ટ નો ખૂબ... BSC થઈને સરકારની ફીમાં જે એમ એમ ની Oklahoma યુનિ.માં એડમિશન મેળવીને Business Administration ના ક્ષેત્રમાં મુંબઈના રિપોર્ટમાં ધ્યાન દેવાના પેપર છે. તો આયર્લેન્ડના ફીમાં જેવી રીતે તૈયારી યુનિ.માં એડમિશન મળી શકે કે નહીં? તે તપાસ કરીને બધા અપેક્ષાઓ બીજા કોઈ Chem. Eng. અથવા Jee. લાઈન નો ફિરો. તેવા માટે એડમિશન મેળવી શકાય તે inquire કરીને આપના opinion & guidance આપશો. તે મુંબઈ અત્યારે આપણી પાસે તૈયારી શરૂ થાય છે - રાન-મેર નું fitting કઈ છે. અજ્ઞાત vacancy પેપરમાં જે લેટર નું પેમેન્ટ થાય છે. ઉપરાંત બીજા નવા-જૂની implementation પણ ફીટ થાય છે. [Side text]: આ બાજુ, મુંબઈમાં પણ એને Progress જોવા મળે છે. મને તો લાગ્યું કે પાર્શ્વ સ્તર તે શ્રમની ફી વધે છે. અને પણ એમાં એક્સચેન્જ કે આ બધી ફીમાં પણ આ જાણકારી છે. અત્યારે જામનગર આવી છું.

 

૨૦/૪ રાજકોટ પ્રિય ભાઈ, ઘણા સમય પછી ગઈ કાલે તમારો પત્ર મળ્યો. વડિયા સૌ ચિંતા કરતા હતાં અને હું પણ પરીક્ષા પૂરી થયા પછી પત્ર લખું એવો વિચાર કરતો હતો, તા. ૨૪ પેપરો અને ૧૫ થી ૧૬ પ્રેક્ટિકલ હતાં - પેપર તથા પ્રેક્ટિકલ સારા ગયાં છે. 2nd class ની આશા છે. ઘણું લખવા જેવું છે. ગઈ કાલે જ છાપામાં સૌ. સરકારની જોબ અંગે જાહેરાત હતી. ૨૦ મી મે. પહેલાં અરજી કરવાની છે. અનેક આરામ કરી લેવી એવો વિચાર છે. બીજી જોગવાઈઓ પણ વિચાર છે - પણ મુખ્ય સવાલ એ છે કે શું કરી લેવો? એમાં Specialised subject જેવો પણ બહુ ફાવટ નથી અને અત્યારના સંજોગોમાં અઘરું લાગે છે. એમણે જ સ્વ. શામળ બાપાના શશીકાંતભાઈ સાથે આવેલા - તેમણે મુંબઈમાં National Rayon ની તપાસ કરી તો એવું કે ૫૦૦ થી ૧૦૦૦ આશરે પડે છે અને તમે પણ સમયે વધારે કરો. અને તેમને તો પોતાનું ઘરનું ટ્રાન્સફર છે એટલે કઈ વાંધો નથી પણ તેમની સાથેના બીજાઓ એની જેઓ સૌ ૨૫૦ માં નોકરીએ રહી ગયાં - નવા industrial plan ની ઘણા technicians ની જરૂર છે એવું જાણ્યું તો સૌ કરી પાડે છે અને સાથે બે-ત્રણ વર્ષ પછી અત્યારની સ્થિતિમાં થોડો ફેર પડશે એવો સંભવ પણ ખરો. તો છતાં કોઈ કઈ લાઈન લીધી હશે કે જે વધારે general હોય અને બીજે ક્યાંય પણ વપરાઈ શકે Business Administration ઘણા લે છે તો શું કરે છે? એ કયાં કયાં સંજોગો અને પરિસ્થિતિનો વિચાર કરી શું વધારે ફાવટ છે એ સમજવું.

 

[Continuation from the previous letter] દામ વધારે કઈ કરી શકે. ફરી પાછા ફર્યા પછી ઘણી સારી જગ્યા રાજીવ વિદ્યાલય ત્યાં આવીને અને ત્યાં જેટલો સમય રહી શકાય તેટલું રહી લેવા નોકરી-પૈસા જે ભેગા કરી શક્યાં રહે ના શું જાવું? નકશામાં આપણને ત્યાંનો અનુભવ અને વિચાર શ્રેણીમાં થોડો ફેર સાથે મારો વિસ્તાર વધે. તો વગર આ સમય પસાર થઈ ગયા પછી આવા ‘અપ્સ’ મળવા પણ મુશ્કેલ ગણાય - ત્યાંની યુનિ. ની admission મળવી શકાય તેવી શક્યતા ખરી. એડમિશન કરી લેને તો જ નોકરીઓ ત્યાર એડમિશન મેળવવું તથા કંઈ જાગ્રત વર્ષ - પણ ત્યાંની ઘણી યુની. એમાં ની કરી તદન અલગ યુની. માં જતા સડક રસ્તાઓ ખૂબ ઘણી મુશ્કેલી પડે - કહે ઘણા ગુજરાતીઓ ત્યાંની લગતા નવીન છે જે યુની. માં પણ છે એટલે વાંધો ન આવે. એ તપાસ જવાબની રાહ જોઈશ - તે દરમિયાન અહીં ની થતી ઘણી movement બાજુ કરી છે. અહીં સૌ કુશળ છે - અત્યારે લાગે છે. ૨૭ ન દિવસથી આવ્યા છે. શુક્રવારે તા. ૨૦ મે ના પુષ્પાના લગ્ન છે - દામ ત્યારે વડિયા જઈશ - ત્યાર પછી લાગતીભાઈ ને સૌ સાથે દામ ગિરનાર જઈશું - તમારા પત્ર દડિયા અહીં આવી જશે. રૂપિયા ઘણા પાંચ-દસ પહોંચીને હોંગ રૂ. ૫૫૫ લખી જવા કર્યાં છે. દામ તમને એની આપરના મળી જાય - નહિ તો ત્યાં ડિલિવરી લેતા કરીને authority આપતા જજો - નહિ તો પાછું આવશે - બીજું પાર્સલ ઘણા વખત પણ કર્યું - તેમાં કઈ મંગાવવું હોય તો લખજો - પુસ્તકો માટે જસ્ટીન લાઈન હું પણ અત્યારે જઈશ - લિખીત અનંત વ્યવહારથી માલે છે. વડિયા સૌ કુશળ છે - ત્યાં સૌ ભાઈઓને સ્મરણ - પત્ર લખશો.

Dear Brother,

Greetings. Please write and send several hellos/wishes. There has been no letter from your end for many weeks, so everyone is worried. It has never been this late before, and with it being so late this time, it is natural for everyone to feel anxious. There is well-being news from our end. Everyone's health is good; do not worry. Worry... Brother Nanu's exams are over. Worry... Nanu's papers went well, but expectations remain. Results will come in the semester month, so may that be pleasant. What preparations will you respond with? Write what idle/general opinions are formed. Admission papers... Secretary D. M. Bhatt on behalf of the Saurashtra Government... after doing B.Sc., getting admission in Business Administration at Oklahoma University on government fees, papers focusing on the Mumbai report. So, can admission be obtained in University prep in the same way on Ireland fees or not? Please inquire about that and all expectations for another Chem. Eng. or Eng. line. Inquire if admission can be secured for that and offer your opinion & guidance. In Mumbai right now, our preparations are starting — what is the fitting for Ran-Mer? In the unknown vacancy paper, payment for the letter is made. Besides, other new and old implementations are also fitted.

[Side text]: On this side, progress can also be seen in Mumbai. To me, it felt that at the lateral level, labor fees are increasing. And also in exchange or in all these fees, there is information. Right now I have come to Jamnagar.

Dear Brother,

Received your letter yesterday after a long time. Everyone in Vadia was worrying, and I was also thinking of writing a letter after my exams ended. On date 24 papers and 15 to 16 practicals were held — papers and practicals went well. Expecting a 2nd class. There is much to write about. Just yesterday in the newspapers, there was an advertisement regarding jobs by the Saurashtra Government. Applications are to be submitted before 20th May. I am thinking of taking some rest first. Other options are also under consideration — but the main question is, what should be done? There isn't much expertise in a specialized subject either, and under current circumstances, it seems difficult.

Shashikantbhai, who came with the late Shamal Bapa — when they inquired about National Rayon in Mumbai, it seems the salary ranges around 500 to 1000, and you also spend more time. For them, it is their home transfer, so there's no issue; but others with them who got settled in jobs at 250 — learned that many technicians are needed for the new industrial plan, so everyone is applying, and along with that, there is a possibility that current conditions might change slightly after two to three years. Still, has anyone chosen a line that is more general and can be used anywhere else? Many take Business Administration, so what do they do? Considering which circumstances and situations, one must understand what is more suitable.

Can do more regarding price. After returning back, many good positions are at Rajiv Vidyalaya; coming there and staying as long as possible, collecting whatever money/job possible, why go? On the map, with a slight change in experience and train of thought over there, my scope expands. So without this time passing, getting such 'ups'/opportunities is also considered difficult — is there a genuine possibility of getting admission in the university there? Only if admission is secured, then jobs... getting admission there as well as some active year — but going to a completely different university among many universities there, roads and routes present a lot of difficulty. Many Gujaratis say the environment there is new, which is also in the university, so there shouldn't be a problem. I will await a reply on that inquiry — meanwhile, many movements taking place here have been put aside. Everyone here is doing well — so it seems right now. Have arrived for 27 days. On Friday, 20th May, is Pushpa's wedding — then I will go to Vadia — after that, along with Lagatibhai and everyone, we will go to Girnar — your letter to Dadia will arrive here. Reached around five-ten rupees, written Rs. 555 to be sent. You might receive its authorization — otherwise, while taking delivery there, give authority, or else it will come back — another parcel was also sent a long time ago — if you want to order anything in it, do write. Regarding books, Justin line... I will also go now — written by Anant through business dealings. Everyone in Vadia is doing well — regards to all brothers there — do write a letter.
