એક P.C.
Dear Brother Batuk,
Received your aerogram this morning, and your envelope arrived this afternoon. Make Calcutta 7, not 16—that mistake was present in both letters, and the envelope reached me only after suffering through a great deal of postmarks! Do not make this mistake henceforth.
The details you inquired about will be sent hereafter. Special arrangements can certainly be made to visit the Hindustan Motors factory. Rashmikant Doshi is currently back in our home town/native place, but as far as I believe, he will have returned by the time you all arrive, so the factory can be toured conveniently. Trains go from here, and Hindustan Motors has its own dedicated railway station, four or five stations away from here. We will write a letter to Vallabh-Vidyanagar to ask what arrangements can be made over there. My own maternal uncle (Kakaji) and his two sons live there with their families.
Hope your health is good. Chandabahen stayed here for ten days and has now returned home. Jyoti is here. My health is fine. I will forward your letter to Chanda tomorrow. There was a letter from Manju from Vadia. Saturday is Raksha Bandhan; you surely remember that on the last Raksha Bandhan, you and your both departed from Vadia. Do write letters. Shailesh is doing well. Warm regards from Anjali and Jain.
P.S.: Right after writing this letter, your previous letter arrived just now after traveling through five or six post offices! This happened because you wrote 'Calcutta-6' instead of 'Calcutta-7'. Postage due (Not Paid) was also charged!
Date: 12.8.54, Thursday [August 12, 1954]
Batukbhai,
Was delighted to receive your letter today. Your previous letter was never received here at all. Chandabahen wrote you two letters from here, to which it seems you haven't replied to date. You and Nanubhai are giving fairly adequate replies to letters—by addressing both sisters' names on a single letter, you manage to save time simultaneously! If I have grown tired of writing letters, that shouldn't be counted as my fault. The fatigue is actually given to brothers like you, so that you don't have to waste time even to read your sisters' letters!
Your tour's complete itinerary must have been finalized by now. How many days is it for? You are setting out right at the start of the Diwali vacation, aren't you? There was a postcard from Nanubhai in Rajkot many days ago. Except for Nanubhai, no one else even took the trouble to write a couple of lines.
Jain's health here is good. Chandabahen's health hasn't been keeping well lately. Convey my warm regards to everyone at Bhanubahen's house over there.
