Dear Brother Hemendra,
Received your letter; reading it brought joy. The day you left, no work came up, and even if it had, how could I not come to the station? But it was missed due to a misunderstanding. We reached the station just as the train departed. I was under the impression that the Saurashtra Mail leaves at 8:05. After that, I couldn't write a letter, and immediately we had to go to Cuddapah (towards Madras) via Jaypura. As soon as we got there, fever struck, and I fell ill. I just returned yesterday morning. But because of the fever, my mouth [taste] has become very bad. Today I feel somewhat relieved.
I have brought cloth for your brother, which I sent with my mother-in-law. If she doesn't know your address, please get it collected from her:
Keshubhai C. Mehta
Ram-Nivas, Near May Mandir, Manhar Plot 6
You must have returned after traveling around everywhere? Let us know once things are finalized.
Mahendrabhai asks from Gadhada what your friend's thoughts/decisions are. What reply should I write? Please inform me.
Do not be in a hurry about anything. Give it thorough thought at home before doing whatever you decide.
Virendra must be doing well? Give him my regards. Let us know how severe the heat was there. Is everyone else fine? We are all fine. I will write a detailed letter once my health improves. Your sister-in-law is fine and remembers you very much! Do write a letter without fail.

Dear Brother Hemendrabhai,
Received your letter; reading it brought much joy, so keep writing like that. Is your health good over there? Here, my health is good. We had come to the station, but the train had already missed [left], so we returned.
Your brother returned from Cuddapah yesterday. On account of a severe fever, he got fever...
...over there. Now he is better, so do not worry. The household is running smoothly. When you come, you will be able to see for yourself, so I will leave it at that; otherwise, nothing particularly new.
The Rajkot address has been provided, so if you get time, do drop by. My sister/relative left for there on the 4th, so she will meet you. With the hope of seeing you, more when we meet in person.
— Remembrances from your Sister-in-law (Bhabhi)
