પ્રિય ભાઈ હેમેન્દ્ર તારાં પુ. જેન ઉપરના ઘણો પત્રો, વાંચ્યા, જે રીતે તું મારા માટે વિચાર તો હતો એજ રીતે હું પણ તારા માટે એજ વિચારતી હતી કે તારા અક્ષર મારે જોવા માટે દુર્લભ છે, તારા વિચારોનો વહેણ જ્યારે બીજી દિશામાં વાળવા માંગ્યા ત્યારે મારા દિલને થોડુક ધસ્કું દુ:ખ થયું. લાગેલ કે તું અમારા બધાથી કુદો પડી જઈશ અને હજુ પણ એ શંકા સાવ ભાસ સાચી ન પડે એમ ઈચ્છું છું. તું માને છે ને કે માણસ પોતાની જાતને કામમાં ડુબાડી દઈ સુખી થઈ શકે છે? પણ એ ભુલ છે, શરીર કામમાં ડુબી શકે છે, અને કામમાં રોકતા મુશ્કેલી નથી પડતી, પણ જ્યારે મનને પણ આપણે કામના બોજ નીચે મુકી દઈએ તો જ દુનિયાને ભુલી જઈ શકાય છે, પણ એ કામ તું માને છે એટલું સહેલું નથી

શરીરને તો કોઈ પણ બંધનથી બાંધી કાબુમાં રાખી શકાશે, પણ મનને બાંધવું, અન્યને તાબામાં લઈ રોકવા જેટલું મુશ્કેલ છે, તું જે પ્રયોગ અજમાવવાની વાત કરે છે એ જ પ્રયોગ હું અત્યારે અજમાવી રહી છું પણ હજી સુધી તેમાં કઈ જ સહજતા નથી મળી, આપણે દુનિયાને ભુલી જવાને બદલે એજ આપણને મિલતી જાય છે, આપણી તો એમાં મનોવ્યથા જ વધે છે દુનિયાને ભુલી જવાની ગમે તેટલી કોશીષ કરશું તે છતાં આપણને દીપ સોહાય એવા વ્યક્તિને ઝંખશે કે જેના પાસે એ પોતાનું દીપ ખોલી શકે બીજી શું ખબર છે? અમારા તો આપણી ઉપર કંઈક પાઝર ગયું, કે વર્ષ તો આવજો મજાને! તારી તબીયત કેવી છે? મારી સારી છે, આ તરફ આવવું નહતું આ વેકેશનમાં બને તો જરૂર બને આ બાજુ કાંઈક શો, પત્ર ક્યારેક લખતો રહેજે. એજ તારી જ્હેની મંદા

તા ૨૫, ૧૨, ૫૨ ભાઈ શ્રી હેમેન્દ્ર કુમાર પારેખ, લિ.ત્તિ. સાથે લખવાનું કે આપનો ધ... સંચય પછી અમારા ઉપરનો પત્ર મળ્યો, વિગત જાણી આપ ઉંચી જાતની ફાઉન્ટન પેન તથા રાઈટીંગ પેડ ના એજન્ટ છો એ તો આપના પત્ર ઉપર જાણ્યું, પણ આપ કઈ કંપની ના એજન્ટ છો એ જણાવતા આપ ભુલી ગયા છો, ખેર કંઈ વાંધો નહીં, આપની વસ્તુઓ વાડીયા Made નથી ને? જો આપ પાર્કર "૫૧" ના એજન્ટ હો તો એકાદ સેમ્પલ તરીકે મોકલશો, પસંદ આવશે તો વધારે ઓર્ડર નોંધાવશે. સેમ્પલના બીલ ના પૈસા ધક્કા બેન્ક માં મારૂત મોકલી આપશું. સેમ્પલ આવ્યા બાદ પસંદ પડશે તો અમારી સંસ્થાના ઘણા મેમ્બરો તરફથી આપને વધારે ઓર્ડર આપશે,

Dear Brother Hemendra,

Read your many letters to Respected Jen. Just as you were thinking about me, I was also thinking the same about you — that seeing your handwriting has become rare for me. When you tried to bend the flow of your thoughts in another direction, my heart felt a slight jolt of pain. It felt as though you would separate yourself from all of us, and even now, I wish that this fear does not turn out to be completely true. You believe, don't you, that a person can become happy by drowning themselves in work? But that is a mistake; the body can drown in work, and engaging in work isn't difficult, but only when we place the mind under the burden of work can the world be forgotten. However, that task is not as easy as you think.

The body can be kept under control through any kind of restriction, but constraining the mind is as difficult as holding back another under one's control. The very experiment you speak of trying, I am trying right now, but so far I haven't gained any ease in it. Instead of us forgetting the world, it keeps meeting/fronting us, and our own mental anguish only increases in it. No matter how much we try to forget the world, the heart will still yearn for a person after its own likeness—someone to whom it can open itself up. What other news is there? Something has passed over us, so goodbye to the year, stay fine! How is your health? Mine is good. Didn't intend to come this way; if possible, do visit this side during these vacations. Do keep writing letters from time to time.

Written herewith to inform you that your letter addressed to us was received after a long accumulation... Learned the details. We came to know from your letter that you are an agent for high-quality fountain pens and writing pads, but you forgot to mention which company's agent you are. Well, no issue; your products aren't "Vadia Made," are they? If you are an agent for Parker "51", do send one as a sample; if liked, a larger order will be placed. The money for the sample bill will be sent directly via Dhakka Bank. Once the sample arrives and is approved, you will receive more orders from many members of our institution.
