આ પહેલા એક પત્ર લખેલ
જે તને મળી ગયો
હોવો જોઈએ. હમણાં તારા તરફથી કોઈ
ખબર નથી. રાજકોટ પુ.
બાપુનો પત્ર હતો એમ
બાપુજી લખતા હતા
તારી
તબીયત સારી હશે, તારી
રજાઓ ક્યાં સુધીની છે તે જણાવજે.
રહે રહેવા તથા ખાવા પીવાની
અડચણ ઓછી થઈ કે
નહીં? અહીં અમે બધા
મજામાં છીએ. પુ. બેનને
ત્યાં બધા મજામાં છે,
શૈલેશ વેકેશનમાં બાપુ માં આવેલ
છે. ભણવામાં ખુબ હોશીયાર છે,
હવે હવે તો મોટો
થતો જાય છે એટલે
ખુબજ અટપટા સવાલો કરે છે, ભગવાન
શું છે ક્યાં છે?
આપણું મૃત્યુ પછી ક્યાં જઈશું,
બાળકો ક્યાંથી આવે છે વગેરે.

પુ બાપુનો ખુશાલીનો પત્ર હતો. થોડા
દિવસ પહેલા મોટાભાઈ, પુ. તથા દિનેશને
એક સાથે ટાઈફોઈડ થઈ
ગયેલ જેથી વડીયાથી પુ.
બા, બાપુ તથા જ્યોતિ
રાજકોટ આવેલ પુ. બા
તથા બાપુ અઠવાડીયા પહેલા
વડીયા ગયા છે અને
જ્યોતિ થોડા દિવસ માટે
રતુભાઈને ઘરે રોકાયેલ છે,
ભાભી વગેરેને તાવ નોર્મલ થઈ
ગયો છે અને હવે
ખાવાની પણ છુટ આપી
છે.

હસમુખભાઈ વિકાસ અધિકારીની બે મહીનાની ગર્વમેન્ટ
તરફથી જે ટ્રેનીંગ અપાવે
છે તેના માટે રાંચી
ગયેલા છે, ભાઈ નાનુ
તરૂપના બેંગલોર ફરગ્યુસન ટ્રેક્ટર નું કઈક જોવા
માટે ગયો છે ત્યાં
દોઢેક મહીનાનો કોર્સ છે પછી મદ્રાસ
કલકત્તા વગેરે તરફ આવશે એમ
લખે છે.

કાકા કાકી દિવાળી સુધી
દેશમાં રોકાવાના છે, ઘરે ઘરે
ખરચાની સ્થિતી કટોકટી થતી જાય છે,
જો વેળાસર ખેતી થશે એના
માટે
સારૂં
છે.
ત્યાંના
અવારનવાર લખતો રહેજે. આ
વરસે સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં ખુબ જ વરસાદ
પડ્યો છે. બીજો દુકાળ
ન પડે તો સારૂં.
અહીં પણ હજી વરસાદના
ઝાપટા આવ્યા કરે છે અને
સીઝન ખુબજ ખરાબ રહે
છે. હમણાં તો બધે માંદગી
છે.
અનુભાઈએ
રેંટીયાના નાકે નવું ઘર
લીધું છે તો ખબર
મળ્યા હશે. હવે સૌ
શાંતિ અને સંપથી રહે
તો ભવિષ્યમાં આશા થશે.

તો બિન્દાસ મંગાવજે.

Dear Brother Batuk [Hemendra],
I wrote a letter to you before this, which you must have received. Currently, there is no news from your end. Respected Bapuji wrote in his letter from Rajkot...
Hope your health is good. Please inform us how long your vacation lasts. Did the difficulties regarding stay, food, and drink lessen or not?
All of us here are fine. Everyone at Respected Sister's place is fine. Shailesh came to Bapu [Calcutta] during the vacation. He is very bright in his studies; now that he is growing up, he asks very intricate/complex questions, such as: What is God? Where is He? Where do we go after death? Where do children come from? etc.
There was a letter of well-being/happy news from Respected Bapu in Rajkot. A few days ago, Elder Brother, Respected [Sister-in-law/Ba], and Dinesh all suffered from typhoid at the same time, because of which Respected Ba, Bapu, and Jyoti came to Rajkot from Vadia. Respected Ba and Bapu went back to Vadia a week ago, and Jyoti is staying at Ratubhai's home for a few days. Sister-in-law and the others' fever has returned to normal, and now they have been allowed to eat regular food as well.
Sister Champu is also doing well.
Shri Hasmukhbhai has gone to Ranchi for a two-month government training provided for Development Officers. Brother Nanu has gone to Bangalore on behalf of Tarup to see something regarding Ferguson Tractors; there is a course of about a month and a half there, after which he writes that he will come towards Madras, Calcutta, etc.
Respected Uncle and Aunt are going to stay in the home country [India] until Diwali. At home, the financial/expense situation is becoming critical day by day; if farming happens in time, then for that...
...it will be good.
Keep writing about the news over there from time to time. This year, it has rained heavily in Saurashtra. It will be good if another famine does not occur. Here too, rain showers keep coming, and the season remains very bad. Right now, there is illness everywhere.
You must have received the news that Anubhai bought a new house near Rentia Naka. Now, if everyone lives in peace and harmony, there will be hope for the future.
