પ્રિય હેમેન્દ્ર અને વારેન્દ્ર,

તારો પત્ર મળ્યો અને અમો નીકળવાના હતાં પરંતુ નરેન્દ્રને મુંબઈ જ જવું હતું તેમ હું એકલો ત્યાં રહે આવીને અભ્યાસ કરી, પત્ર લખીને બુધવારે મેઈલમાં નીકળી છે જે રાજકોટ બપોરે ૧૨-૧ ની વચ્ચે ત્યાં આવશે. નરેન્દ્ર ને પણ ઇચ્છા પણ તે કંઈ કોઈ જ ન થયો અને જરા પણ ફરવા લાગ્યો હશે મે અને પાસ સારા નહી ઠર્યો. દિવસો અહીં સહેલાઈથી પસાર થતા નથી. પત્ર નો જવાબ આપજે અને વારેન્દ્ર. જવાના હોય તો રૂપિયા મોકલી કરજે. અત્રે ખાસ નવીન નથી.

Dear Hemendra and Varendra,

Received your letter. We were about to leave, but Narendra only wanted to go to Mumbai; thus, I came here alone to stay and study. Writing this letter, I will be leaving on the Wednesday Mail train, which will reach Rajkot between 12:00 and 1:00 in the afternoon. Narendra also wished to come, but nothing materialized for him, and he might have felt like roaming around a bit; my passes didn't work out well either. Days here do not pass easily. Do reply to the letter, and Varendra—if you are going, please send the money. Nothing particularly new here.
