Dear Hamendra,
After years of my silence I take
the opportunity to start this letter and continue our old correspondence. I am
sorry for having kept you waiting. I have some time say 3/4 hr as I am leaving
Heidelberg for Mannheim by train at 2.55 P.M. I hope I can finish this letter
at least before the end of this week.
I am invited by my friend and
paying him a friendly visit. By the by you didn't write me about your B.E Exam
results. I inquired Amirana but Acharya hasn't written about you. I take it for
granted that you have passed, if not in 1st class, at least in II class. What
are your future plans? Going to accept any job immediately or wish to continue
the same in a foreign country? What about Virendra? Naresh hasn't written me
for a long time. I am to be blamed for all this because of my irregularity in
replying. Anyway I hope to dispose of the pending work as early as possible.
That will relieve me of some botheration.
I don't know where to address
this letter.
Dear, it might be that possible
that you have seen a photo of the Heidelberg Mensa where the students take
their meals together. I very much wish to bring you all the remembrance back
there. There are 2 such houses where we eat together and it costs only 40, 80,
150 Pf. summing for the whole month an average expenditure at such houses is 45
D.M (1 DM = 1-2-3 Rs). And evening we all take mostly at home (45 D.M) 50 DM
for the room and 30-40 Sundry expenses. Some time back actually a fortnight ago
we had been to Neckarsteinach to swim. We were 5 in all. One family and one
another girl and me. We enjoyed a lot but unfortunately we remembered after
reaching there to take a camera with us. What a pity. Yesterday I had some
visitors and we were together till morning. Study is progressing slowly and
intently. I am coming near and near to the end of my practicals. Last week I
had such bad luck that I couldn't progress at all. Moreover I am quite uneasy
getting sometimes homesickness, inspite of the soft company. We have from the
dance school on 16th July a dance and on 15th July is annual gathering from the
Univ. Austro foreign dept. I am fired up and moreover I am stranded. I have
applied in B.A.
...and until now there is no
reply. You see, I have so far blown my own trumpet. During the easter holidays
I was in Holland. How is business in Rajkot and general in India.
Where do you and me stand?
Yesterday (Sunday) I had paid a visit to my friend in Mannheim about 12 km from
here. City looks nice there as also we saw a Television programme. To date I am
so tired I hardly can work. I have also lost my watch. I wouldn't advise you to
come here for further studies of course, you can come here and take practical
training. I am tired of Heidelberg. Wish to travel somewhere. 10-7-55 My
congratulation to you. I have received
today a letter from Naresh. I
wish you good luck in your attempts & go ahead to study further in America.
I have some friend in America one of them is going there by end of this month.
13-7-55 Sorry I cannot come to the back and finish off this letter Dear
Hamendra. When I get time and peace of mind I will write you one letter that
you never had before. So until then I am just waiting for a long reply from
