મંગાવવાને મોકલવાને બદલે માત્ર Ophthalmology ના બે
ત્રણ પાના ફાડીને મને
Air મા મોકલશો — Index માંથી Ophthalmology ના પાના નંબર
જોઈ તેટલા જ પાના રેડીને
મોકલશો —

મારી જગાએ સરખું ચાલશે
નવું Correspondence નથી થતું થઈ
જશે. ખાસ નવા બુલેટીનમાં
થઈને જલ્દી તપાસ કરી તુરત
લખી શકાય એટલે લખું
તો તેઓ Air થી મોકલી આપે
તેથી રજા ને મળશે.

હશે. આણંદથી આ પત્ર સાથે
મળ્યો. તેમાં ચિ. ડૉ. રણછોડભાઈએ
મંગાવેલ બુલેટીન માંથી માત્ર આઈ(Eye)ની ના પાના
ફાડી લઈને ત્વરિત એરમેલ
અગર રજીસ્ટર એરિયા ખરીદવા બાબત આપવા. રાજકોટથી
એવું લખેલું, ભાભી માતૃશ્રી તા.
૩૧/૭ ને મંગળવાર
નાં અને રમેશભાઈ આપી
ગયા છીએ. ચિ. બેન
ભગી રાજકોટ બે ચાર દિવસ
રોકાઈ ને ચાલી જશે.
એ પ્રકારે જોયા. બધાની તબીયત તદ્દન સારી થઈ ગઈ.
અમે અને આવી ગયા
છીએ. પિતાજી પણ ઓફિસમાં પાસે
ગયા ચંદા બહેન નો
ખુશી ખબર નો પત્ર
હતો અને ત્યાં સાસરે
સૌ સહેમ છે. તારી
તબીયત બરાબર સંભાળજે. ઈસીજી થાય તેના ત્યાં
રખેલા ભાઈના બરાબર મનમાં પડે તે સ્વાભાવિક
છે. પરંતુ અમે તો તારે
આ ઓગસ્ટ મહિનો પૂરો થઈને પાછું
અરજીનું ઈસીજી— નવાનું હશે. અને ત્યાં
બાદ M.S પૂરી કરવા માટે
બીજી બે વર્ષે મહીના
વિગેરે જોઈન્ટ ફિરવા થી હશે મતલબ
કે કોઈને પણ વિદ્યાર્થીઓને તે
દિવસ થઈને સાલ થશે.
તો ત્યાં વખત રહેવાનું બની
શકે. તમારા ભવિષ્ય ગોઠવણ નાં આધાર અત્યારના
તમારા પ્રયાસ, અભ્યાસ, અને ફ્યુચર ઘડતર
ઘડાય છે ને ! ઉપર
અભ્યાસ છે. થોડા દિવસ
અગાઉ સૌરાષ્ટ્ર સરકારનાં ફાઈનાન્સિયલ સેક્રેટરીને મળ્યો હતો અને ફોરેન
ના સ્ટુડન્ટસને આપવાની લોન માંથી રેસિડેન્સીમાં
ફેરવવા બાબત સરકારશ્રી ની
વિચારણામાં છે મંજૂરી તથા
પુછતાં તેણે ખુલાસો કર્યો
છે અત્યાર સુધીમાં એવું કોઈ પણ
સરકારે વિચાર્યું નથી. અત્યારે તો
અંધાધૂંધી તો મહાગુજરાતની નવી
સરકાર સ્થાપવાની છે એટલે નવી
સરકારમાં ની. ચાલુ બાબત
ના નિર્ણય લેવામાં મોડું થવાની કોઈ શક્યતા નથી.
એટલે આ પ્રશ્ન પરત્વે
ખોટો સેવવો યોગ્ય નહીં. પેપરો માં છાપાયેલાં સૂત્રો
ની નરેન્દ્ર ને જરા જાનવરમાં
ઉશ્કેરાટ મચાવ્યો છે પરંતુ તપાંશ
લડાઈ થવાની શક્યતા નથી. સ્ટેચ્યુઓ સાચવવા
ધાર્યું છે. પરંતુ અત્યારના
સમયમાં લંપટપણા ની પેરિસ રિપોર્ટ
જોઈને ચાલશે તો ગમે—

Dear Jashubhai,
There is no letter from you recently, so do write. Your two-year study period must be over by now; please let us know which office you are currently attached to.
Earlier, I used to request the latest American Medical Association Bulletin for Residency through you. The current issue might be downstairs/outdated, so please request a new, fresh issue of that Bulletin for me. Instead of requesting and sending the entire Bulletin, please tear out only the two or three pages concerning Ophthalmology and send them to me by Airmail—look up the page numbers for Ophthalmology in the Index and send just those torn pages—
...Things are going fine at my place. No new correspondence is happening, but it will fall into place. I am writing specifically so that a quick inquiry can be made via the new Bulletin and an immediate reply sent, as they might send it by Air, allowing me to take leave.
At Bhau Hari Vidyanagar, admissions have been going on for two or three days. Two or three students needed to take admission, and that too will likely be sorted out in 4-5 days.
Your dear brother went to Ranavav a week ago. Due to a death, Kakabhai and everyone else have come down to their native place for 11 months.
Chi. Kishore passed Matriculation with 50%, but to take recovery/advantage of Science with the help of Arts, he has been sent with 43 marks.
In Secunderabad, due to severe flooding and total destruction around the station, 200–250 people died overnight.
Do write calm and detailed home news from there. Please send the fresh, new Bulletin.

You must have received the letter written 5-6 days ago from Rajkot before this. I received this letter along with the one from Anand. In it, Dr. Ranchhodbhai requested that you tear out only the Eye (Ophthalmology) pages from the requested Bulletin and send them immediately by Airmail or Registered Air. As written from Rajkot, Bhabhi and Mother were dropped off on Tuesday, 31/7, by Rameshbhai. Sister Bhagi will stay in Rajkot for two to four days and then leave. Everyone’s health has completely recovered. We have also arrived. Father went to the office. There was a letter with good news from Chanda Behn, and everyone is well at her in-laws' place. Take good care of your health.
It is natural that the person who conducted the ECG has a strong impression of it. However, as for us, once this month of August ends, there will be another application for ECG—a new one. After that, completing the M.S. will take another two years and a few months with joint enrollment, meaning it will take that many days and years for any student. Thus, staying there for that long can be managed. Your future setup depends on your current efforts, studies, and future planning! Further studies lie ahead. A few days ago, I met the Financial Secretary of the Saurashtra Government; regarding converting the loans given to foreign students into residency loans, it is under the Government's consideration. Upon asking about its approval, he clarified that no government has considered such a proposal until now. Currently, there is administrative disruption as a new government for Maha-Gujarat is to be formed, so there is no possibility of a quick decision on ongoing matters under the new government. Therefore, it is not appropriate to entertain false hopes on this question.
The slogans printed in the papers created some excitement among Narendra and others, but on investigation, a war is unlikely to occur. They plan to preserve the status quo. However, in these times, following the Paris report on reckless conduct would be desirable—
Otherwise, regarding a small business or through friendship from Mumbai on the 10th/11th, local matters or friendly initiatives are starting.
