તારો પત્ર થોડા દિવસ
પહેલા મળ્યો. ત્યાંની વિગત વાંચી આનંદ
થયો. જે રીતે ત્યાંનું
સેટઅપ છે નદિન લખાતો
રહેશે તે જોઈ ઘણો
સંતોષ થયો. તારા જે
પાર્ટનરો આપણા ગુજરાતી બંધુઓ
છે તે સગવડનું નહિ
લાગે. તારે તો ત.મા. મુન્સી જે.
જ્યાં જ્યાં વસે ગુજરાતી ત્યાં
ત્યાં સદા ગુજરાત માની
લેવું. અભ્યાસમાં શું થઈ ગયું
ને ગયું? આપણી શિક્ષણની પદ્ધતિ
અને ત્યાંની ઘણી તુલાત્મક અલગ
હશે. પરંતુ ત્યાંનું જે અમેરિકનનું શિક્ષણ,
ઇંગ્લેન્ડના જેટલું ઉચ્ચ સ્તરનું નહીં.
મતલબ સહેલું. તારો અનુભવ જરૂર
થયું હશે. ત્યાંના બધા
વિગતે વિચાર વાકેફ થયા. આપણા કામમાં
બધા પડોશી છે, બધા જ
ટેલર જેવા લાગે છે.
નમી તો સ્થાયી થઈને
૧૨૦ ડોલર મળશે.
એટલે
તને તો ત્યાં સારા
ડોલર મળે છે અને
તે જગત પાસે ઓલ
સ્ટેન્ડ એન્ડ વોટર પણ
લઈને ને અપર હતા.
તે ત્યાં નહોતા ને મે ૨૨૧
માં નજર આપજો. ત્યાં
બધા સ્ટુડન્ટ્સ પાસે થી આ
રીતે ડોલરનો વહેલો હોય તો તપાસ
કરીને જણાવજો તે વગર ત્યાં
તને પત્રનો અગેધ મેળવવો પડશે.
ટ્રાન્સફર સાચી ને પ્રમાણે
૨૦ મિનિટમાં કરી શકાય. ત્યાંની
અમેરિકામાં સારી આપણી સંખ્યા
જમા પ્રમાણ વધારે સારી રાખે. તે
સમય વ્યવસ્થિત ખર્ચા થાય છે. ત્યાંની
યુનિવર્સિટીમાં ઘણા સ્ટુડન્ટ્સ છે
અને પરદેશી વિદ્યાર્થીઓ પણ ઘણા હશે.
તો શું બધા પરદેશી
વિદ્યાર્થીઓ Summer
Vacation માં નોકરી કરે? એવું ધરાવે
તો શું સગવડ મળશે?
જો એવું હોય તો
બેરોજગાર નુકસાન નહીં. હિંદુસ્તાનની અને શાકાહાર-સમાજ
વિચારે ત્યાં વધુ variety મળે છે કે
કેમ? જો ઇસ્તે વાસ્તવ
હોય તો Vegetarian ને કોઈ તકલીફ
પડે નહીં. તું તો શાકાહારી
૧૦૦% રહેવા કોશિશ કરજે. ત્યાં બધેને શાકાહારીની વ્યવસ્થા કરી દેજો.
વિશેષમાં
થોડા દિવસ પહેલા અમેરિકા
'Deed of Dissolution of Partnership' અને
'General Power of Attorney' નું
ઓફિસ છે. ત્યાં તારી
પાસે ભાઈ નાનુભાઈ સાઈન
થઈ ગયા પછી સાઈન
કરીને મોકલી દેજો. First Class Magistrate
અથવા Notary Public પાસે સાઈન કરાવી
જરૂર સ્ટેમ્પ લગાડીને અમે મોકલાવજો, ત્યાંના
રિવાજ પ્રમાણે બધા ડોક્યુમેન્ટ પર
સાઈન કરાવવા જરૂરી છે. આપણો પાર્ટનરશીપમાં
ટેક્સનો ફેરફાર થઈ ગયો છે.
ડૉલરમાં પણ Non-Resident માટે ટેક્સ 50% છે.
રિગાર્ડિંગ આપણાને તે Remittance ના રૂપિયા માટે
ડોર. પરંતુ ત્યાં સરકારની આર્થિક રિફોર્મ ઘણું વધારે થઈ
ગઈ છે. અત્યારે બધા
સપ્તાહ રેમિટન્સ બંધ રહી હોય
તો આપણે શરત કરીએ
કે એક વર્ષ થયા
સાચું તેમાં ૨નું વ્યાજ નથી.
મની ઓર્ડર રૂ. ૩૦ ના
થાય છે. તેના પર
૮ રૂ. ૫૦ રૂ.
કરી આપજો અને તે
પણ જલ્દી કરીને મોકલી આપજો. આ પ્રમાણે હવે
તકલીફ વધવા લાગી છે.
એટલે અહીંયા આપણા હેલ્પે અલ્ટરેટ
કરીને કેશ કરીને લઈ
લેવી. તે ઉપર લખ્યું
તે પ્રમાણે સાઈન કરીને તેને
તુરંત મોકલી આપજો. ભાઈ કાંતિલાલ બેંગલોર
ગયો છે, આનંદમાં રહેશે.

Dear Brother Batuk,
Received your letter dated October 20th a few days ago. Was very glad to read the details from there. Seeing the setup there and knowing that you will keep writing brings much satisfaction. That your partners are our Gujarati brothers will feel convenient. As per K. M. Munshi, you should believe "Wherever a Gujarati resides, there is forever Gujarat."
How did things go with your studies? Our educational system and theirs must be quite different comparatively. However, American education there might not be of as high a standard as England's—meaning it is easier. You must have experienced this yourself. Became acquainted with all the detailed thoughts from there. In our work, everyone is a neighbor, and everyone seems like a tailor. Once settled, you will get $120.
So you are getting good dollars there... If dollars can be obtained early from all students there in this manner, please inquire and inform me; otherwise, you will have to manage through letters. Transfers can actually be done in 20 minutes according to rules. Our numbers in America keep the deposit proportion better. Expenses are being managed systematically during this time. There are many students in the university there, and there must be many foreign students as well. Do all foreign students work during the Summer Vacation? If so, what facilities are provided? If that is the case, there won't be a loss due to unemployment.
Does the vegetarian society offer more variety compared to India? If so, vegetarians won't face any difficulty. Do try your best to remain 100% vegetarian. Arrange for vegetarian options everywhere there.
Furthermore, a few days ago, the office sent the 'Deed of Dissolution of Partnership' and 'General Power of Attorney' to America. Once Brother Nanubhai signs them there, please sign and send them back. Get them signed before a First Class Magistrate or Notary Public, affix the necessary stamps, and send them to us. According to local custom there, signing all documents is necessary.
Our partnership tax structure has changed. Tax for Non-Residents in dollars is also 50%. Regarding our remittance money... But government financial reforms there have increased significantly. Currently, if all weekly remittances are closed, let us agree that for one year there is no interest on 2. Money orders of Rs. 30 are being made; please make it Rs. 8 to Rs. 50 on that and send it quickly. Difficulties have started increasing like this now. So here, alter our help and cash it out. Sign as written above and send it back immediately.
